Hello everyone!
I was in the Oct. DDC but after a BO and a D&C at 8.5 weeks 3 weeks ago, here I am! I went for my post-op checkup with my doctor yesterday and she actually gave me the go-ahead to start trying again right away if I wanted to as everything had healed perfectly and I had had very little bleeding after the procedure. Originally she had said to wait a cycle, but after I told her I'd only had 3 days of light bleeding afterwards, she said that if my body wasn't ready to support a pregnancy then I wouldn't get pregnant. I did a HPT a few days ago and it was negative (my levels had been over 20000 at the time of the D&C).
So now I would like to TTC but have a few questions...My main question is about OPKs.
I have a few generic ones and when I had used them originally, I remember seeing a faint line every time I took one, I guess since we always have LH in a small amount in our system. But now I am using a different brand and no line other than the control line has shown up. I don't seem to have any EWCM but there is an increase in CM...I didn't really get textbook EWCM before, either, when I got pregnant. I do wonder if I ovulated already (2 weeks after the D&C?) and missed it? Should a faint line be showing up on the OPK, are they defective or is there just no LH present?
I don't want to waste my time trying, so maybe it would be best to wait for AF and see what happens after that...any advice ? TIA!!!

Hi, I've only done one cycle of OPK's, and they really didn't do much for me as it took me forever to O, if I even DID O. BUT, I can tell you that for a bit I didn't have a test line at all, only the control line, and then I started getting faint test lines. When I asked about it, I was told that sometimes you won't get a second line at all, so I wouldn't worry too much about it.

If you aren't charting, there's no real way to tell if you've ovulated yet, as temps are the best indicator.

Good luck!

First I just wanted to say I am sorry for you loss.

OPK's can be a little tricky. For me... I would start testing on a certain day of my cycle and I would start seeing a faint line that would get darker until I got a positive and then nothing. I am not sure if this is typical for all women. So I guess it's possible that you might have O'd already or that you just haven't O'd yet.

Sorry I couldn't have been more help. Good luck and welcome to the board.

Hi! I am so sorry for your loss. I was in the Oct DDC also and m/c at 9 weeks. I would use the answer OPK's they seemed to be the best for me. It was very easy to tell when it was positive. I hope that you get your BFP real soon. Good luck!
