I have had 5 recurrent m/c and two tests were done. My OB doesn't know what to do I don't think. I had a thyroid test and a sugar test done (You know the machines that you can own at home to check your blood sugar level if diabetic?) That's it!!
Is this common with drs to do such little testing after so many m/c??
She just didn't seem to really want to bother.........any advise on what questions to ask?
I asked about progesterone.......she said you have living children doubt that is it.
I asked about longer cycles........she said that isn't going to tell me anything.
I told her about my heavy heavy periods.....she said your bleeding pattern isn't going to help me any
What else could I have asked her about? I mean the ONLY reason she even did the two tests she did was because I worried about diabetes running the family......but she didn't even do a full test...just the blood sugar test. Was that just to appease me and shut me up?
She said wellllllll, if you are REALLY wanting another..then I can refer you to an RE...I said in my head duh lady....do you think ANYONE would go through this if they really didn't want another?
Any thoughts or suggestions?
Thanks![/b]

I have had 2 healthy children, 1 24 week preemie who didn't survive and 2 miscarriages (not in that order). After my last m/c on Feb 28th, my doctor took what seemed like a hundred tubes of blood and sent them for testing. He told me I have a problem with my blood clotting too much during pregnancy. The next time I get pregnant (I'm hoping soon), I have to take heparin shots twice a day and a baby aspirin and a folic acid vitamin.
I guess it all depends on your doctor. I didn't even ask for the tests, he just automatically did them. I would think after 5 m/c's they would do more extensive testing.
Hope this helps a little bit.
