okay, so I'm sitting here on JM killing time until the plumbers get around to bothering to call me back so I thought I'd give you an update/vent on our remodeling
We decided since we're remodeling and the walls/ceiling is open to splurge and have the whole house replumbed bc it needed it anyway (good bye you nasty old leaky pipes!!!) but the plumbers didn't finish yesterday like they thought they would. They got the kitchen, the downstairs bathroom (just a sink and toilet) and the outside faucet done and hooked back up, but not the upstairs bathroom (you know, the one with a SHOWER!) or the washing machine. DH was a little PO'd about the shower, but he decided to go to work a bit early and take one there. I don't know what kind of business was in that building before the company he works for took over, but they have showers in their bathrooms. Weird.
So if you want a good laugh . . . I had him help me staple up an old shower curtain to the joists in the basement over the floor drain, and since there was already a hook there (for a clothesline) I used my garden watering can to take a shower! Just had to refill it with hot water a few times.
That, and my "toilet" yesterday consisted of a 5 gallon bucket. Oh, the fun I get to have.
Ugh. the plumbers said they'd be back first thing in the morning to finish the job . . . and here it's almost 11 am and I haven't heard from them yet. I called at 10 am and complained and they are supposed to call me back . . . yeah whatever. Just hook up my shower!!!! At this point even if they get here NOW, I don't think they'll finish today either. There's still alot to do! Man, I hope this doesn't jack the price up!

Okay, I think I'm done rambling now

oh the joys of remodeling lol..... the plumbing jobs are the worst. i hated when we did the bathroom because i was without a shower. and a toilet. i didn't even drink anything all day but there must be something about not having a toilet that really makes you have to go lol... but the end result is worth it. i hope you get all your plumbing stuff fixed soon and can take a long hot shower!

Right after I posted, they called and said the guy should be here soon . . . well he never showed so I called again at 1pm only to find out that he'd gone to the dr for something and was sent home for the day. Gee, thanks for telling me now. So they said they'd send someone else just to hook up the shower at the very least. That guy took one look and said, there's no way this job will be finished today - so he just connected the old lines to the new lines so we have water to the upstairs bathroom. He did hook up the washer too, which was nice. So I called back and said, so when will this job be finished??? When is someone going to come over??? Supposedly the original guy will be back around 11 tomorrow morning. I think I'll believe that when he shows up to finish the job. I mean, okay, so fine, something happened to him and he had to go home. But why not call your customer who's been expecting you since 8am??? Some companies have no concept of customer service!!! UGH!!!
