Hi ladies I am new here. I just had a miscarriage last weekend. I was just wondering how long your MD recommended you wait before trying again? I want to try as soon as possible, but want to make sure my body is ready. Part of me wants to try as soon as possible, but part of me is terrified it will happen again. I don't want to go through that ever again.

I'm sorry for you loss. The women on the board here are very supportive. My doctor told me to wait at least one cycle before trying again, but I have heard anywhere from one cycle to one year. Personally, my belief is that your body won't get pregnant if it isn't ready. Good luck.

You'll find that so many MD's give so many different time frames. I didn't mc, but I had delivered early and lost our baby due to complications. B/c I was so far along my DR told me to wait for 6mo b4 trying again.
So depending on how far along you are may determine how long they want you to wait.

Welcome to the board, and I'm so sorry for your loss.
My doctor recommended that we wait 1 to 2 cycles. I think it differs with each doc, so go with your gut and do what you feel is right for you!

I had different opinions from different doctors. One told me 6 months one told me 3, another told me 1 full cycle but the one who did my d&c told me I could go ahead and try again but to follow my own body.

My doctor said it was okay to start trying right away. She said it was possible I'd ovulate a bit later than usual, but to keep trying. I had an early mc though.

I am so sorry for your loss. You are not alone, I also m/c'd last week and will TTC as soon as I get the go-ahead. My ob advised 2 months. I don't know if it is because of my health or my age. I am 41 and did state that I wanted to TTC right away even though, like you, half of me is terrified and the other half is fearless. I had an early m/c. I also believe like "New Tucson Mom" that your body will get pregnant when it's ready.

Good luck!!

I am sorry for you loss. After my m/c in Oct at 8 weeks I was told to wait one full cycle. After my m/c in March at 10 weeks I was told to wait two cycles. Each doctor will give you a diffrent answer. Sometimes it depends on how far along you were too.
