I know this is outta the blue, but my good friend called me and shes been ttc for 5 years now. and this morning she started her AF, but also took a pregnancy test, and that came back positive. do u know what that means? i told her that it may be a miscarriage or something else. im just wondering you u guys would know something. shes super scared... i just dont understand how she would get a positive pregnancy test, but her AF showed? help..lol..i dont know what to say to her..

There are LOTS of women that bleed during pregnancy.
I have one friend that had AF for the first four months of BOTH of her pregnancies.

I'll keep my fingers crossed for your friend!

She really needs to get some blood work done and see if her numbers fall or go up. That really would be the only way to know what's going on for sure. I hope she isn't m/c She could also try another HPT in a couple days and see what it says then.

It could be IB, or it could be bleeding that means nothing, or it could be a m/c. I hope she goes to a dr and gets her HCG's checked. for the + test and hope everything works out for her!

it could be a number of things, right down to a false positive.
I actually had af that went to spotting...and I just felt "strange", so on a whim I took a test and it was positive. The spotting conitnued for some time after that, before I knew I was losing my little one.

I do hope the best for your friend.

Thanks to all that replied. Well i told her what you all said and she has a dr's appointment for tomorrow. thats the earliest that they could take her in. but she told me that he AF only stayed for 4 days, and theres nothing now. not even a drop. so im hoping that shes finally pregnant! thanks again for answering!
