Is there anything that would give you a clue that you have low progesterone?? Im always worried that maybe mine is low which could be why i have such low temps and stuff. Im afraid that could be what caused my m/c (i know it could have been a number of things) and so im just afraid that if i dont know about it and i get pg again, i might m/c again before i know about it and can do something to correct it.....what do you girls think??

I have low progesterone and the doctor thinks that is why I m/c. But he also does a lot of blood work on me so he can monitor my progestrone levels. On my second cycle of Clomid my progesterone was only 5 when it should have been at least 10 (which is the normal level for someone who ovulated) if not 15 (which is what doctor's want to see if you are on medication to ovulate). So he upped the dose and then at CD 18 I have to go for blood work again to see what my levels are and start taking progesterone suppositories until I get either a BFP or AF shows up.

Really the only way to know for sure is to monitor it through blood tests. I hate being a pin cushion but at the same time, if it works it will be well worth it in the end!!

Should I call my doctor and ask her to test me for low progesterone if im worried about it?? also, can they do a blood test and check it at any time during your cycle, or does it have to be done at a certain time??

Just lurking back here and this caught my eye. I think it is a good idea to get your progesterone tested. I am 99% sure that is what caused my miscarriages. I knew I had a short luteal phase, but I figured that since I got pregnant I was ok. I lost the first one at 6 weeks after spotting for more than a week. I lost the second one at 4 1/2 weeks. After my second loss, I mentioned to the doctor my short cycles (they were around 26 days and I knew I didn't ovulate until ~cd 16-17) and he said it could be a luteal phase defect. He ordered some blood tests including a progesterone test. It came back very low and he said that probably was the problem. So the next cycle we tried clomid (just 50mg) trying to strengthen my ovulation. I managed to get pregnant that cycle, but started spotting almost immediately. I called the dr and they told me my 7dpo test (probably it was more like 5-6dpo) was <6 (i.e. the clomid didn't really work). They prescribed Prometrium and told me that all we could do was wait and see. Well I am 13 weeks pregnant now and things seem to be going well. Hope that helps some!
