Hey ladies, well yesterday i got a blood test to check my progesterone level to make sure it wasnt low...Well my Dr called me with the results and said I am DEFINATLY ovulating (which i pretty much already knew since im charting) and that my progesterone level was 18.3....im not sure what the numbers are supposed to be or anything but she said that isnt low...so that is good news,im excited about that....does anyone know anything about the numbers that they can tell me about my level being 18.3?? Could it mean i could be pg or anything? Thanks ladies!!

From what I know (I am not a doctor), normal can range from 10-30ish. The higher the progesterone indicates the quality of the egg or multiple eggs. High progesterone is not necessarily an indicator of pg, though. Your number, IMO, is good. A friend of mine (took clomid) had a level of 60 and was not preggers.

You definitely can't determine whether or not you are pregnant by progesterone level. I've had cycles where my level was in the 60's and I have not been pregnant. I had one cycle where my level was 0.4 so the doctor though I hadn't even ovulated by I was pregnant (confirmed by bloodtest and I miscarried for the second time as I have an obvious progesterone deficiency - it was after that cycle that my RE put me on progesterone). WHen I got pregnant (and stayed pregnant) with my son, my level was 63 when I was 14 DPO. I was on Crinone at the time though.

My prog was 61.2 and I wasn't pregnant so I don't believe that means anything.

I have heard that anything from 10+ is good. I never did understand what the higher numbers mean.
