Hello all! I'm new here. My husband and I have been married for 6.5 years and we don't, as of yet, have any children. We got pregnant almost immediately after we married and I miscarried at 12 weeks. It was such a hard time for us, but we both moved on and we felt like it was God's way of telling us to wait for a bit. We had a lot going on in our lives then, we were both in the military, I was only 22 and well, we really weren't ready to try again. I don't think there is any way to know if you are ready more so than actually being pregnant! So, we have waited...and waited...and waited.
I'll be 29 in a few months and I've always said I would like to have my first either shortly before or while I am 30. There were a million reasons we gave for waiting. Wanted to wait until we had time to travel more, save more money, buy a home, get out of the military, get out of debt, etc, etc. Well, we are out of reasons now! So, we have decided that after we buy a home in Spring/Summer next year, we will either be pregnant or trying.
However, because I had the miscarriage (I also miscarried at 5 weeks when I was 19) I am terrified. I've been overweight and I recently started working with a nutritionist to get rid of this extra set of toddler twins I'm carrying around (LOL) I want to be sure that I'm doing everything right.
Did any/all of you face this same apprehension prior to trying?? Am I overreacting? It's been a long time and the Dr. says I am fine. Help calm my nerves!!

-Kristy

I wanted to say welcome and I'm sorry about your loss. I'm facing the weight issue right now. My doc says he wanted to me lose some more weight before I get pregnant again. I'm trying though. Most women who had a lost always say they have worries the next time. I'm sometimes wonder if I'm going to be worried the next time. I think we can only hope for the best and focus on the new miracle. Easier said then done.

I'd like to say I am sorry for your losses....
welcome to the board !

I also wanted to have a child before I was 30.....but wasn't lucky enough to find Mick before that ! Right now I am 38, and ttc after my loss last fall....and you bet I am apprehensive. But I think no matter what age you are, or how long you wait to ttc again, there is always that little bit of fear in your mind.
as far as losing weight, myself being type 2 diabetic, its a struggle, but not a lost cause!!
As long as you do what you need to do to stay healthy, just try to relax...easier said than done, I know!
Good luck to you !!!
feel free to pm me if you want to talk further!

Dee

Kristy,

Welcome to the board

I am sorry for your losses. Sounds like both losses were different types of m/c. Did your Doctor say what the chances of either happening again are? I know they say if it is a blighten ovum there is very little chance of it happening again.

I m/c at 14 weeks.. I knew my baby was gone at 11 weeks. I don't think I will ever know why...and that scares the heck out of me when I think about being pregnant again.

I think once you have lived through a m/c the rose colored glass over pregnancy is gone. Reality sets in. We know too well not everything always goes right. It's hard to remember that more pregnancies have a good outcome than a bad one. My dr. said at my 10w apt that I only had a 1% chance to m/c at that point. Yeah... I was that 1%.

If your Dr. says you have nothing to worry about, I would try and do just that... not worry I know it's hard... I think I worry more about not being able to get pregnant again than I do about m/c.

I hope you get your BFP soon... are you going to chart your temps? ....lots of hugs
Bobbie
