I have been told by so many ppl that quitting your job will help you avoid m/cing and I personally don't really believe that but was wondering what everyone's thoughts on that were and how many women were working full time or part time or staying at home with another child when they m/c'd? I have a friend that had four m/c's and when she got pg the fifth time quit her job and that was the baby she carried to term and was healthy. I hear stories like that all the time and have even had friends tell me to quit my job (not an option) on several occassions. I would love your opinions.

I was only working part time when I had my daughter and was in school when I had my son. The only other time I have been pregnant was this last time when I m/c..... I was working full-time retail. 9 hours a day on my feet and very fast paced and stressful... no breaks, just a 45 min lunch. I wish I could quit my job, but I need the health insurance

Sabina,

I truly do not think that makes a difference, unless MAYBE it involves very physical activity, heavy lifting etc.....but who can say? but I'll tell you this, anyone who works & has a loss, should never blame themselves because of their jobs!
I do not work ( dabble at home with crafts for stores & custom dvd's for people, but that's all) and still had a m/c.

It would be nice to know for sure why it happens & how we could prevent them .

I don't think work would have anything to do with it but like Dee said - who can say?

It would be great if we were automatically allowed to stay home once we were pg....I'd be in Heaven. I know that will never happen but it's a good thought.

i dont think thats entirely true. i worked with both of my boys and they survived. now after i had my last one, i decided to be a stay at home mom. i did lose my 2 angels, but that was due to other complication's. i believe its all in your stress meter. weither or not u can deal with stress.

I was working full time with both m/c and when I was pg with DD. I thinking working while pg is a great thing b/c it gives you something else to think about. I know if I was home and PG I would just sit and cry b/c my mind would wonder to all the bad things that can happen.

My grandmother in law TTC my father in law for 10 years and it did not happen for her until she quit her job. Who knows???

My mom worked thru all her pg's and we all came out fine (well mostly ). My sister worked thru both her pg's but she did have some complications with both - 1st was born 3 weeks early (she was fine, just determined to come out!) and pre-eclampsia (sp?) and an emergency c-section with the 2nd and one m/c in between the two.
Me, I quit my job and finally got pg 4 months later. Part of the reason I quit was we were thinking the stress was affecting our TTC, and I wanted to be a SAHM anyway. I would have quit anyway, the place was horrible!

I was on a break last year for 4 months and I did get pregnent on our second try and m/c in the 6th week. The second time I got pregnent I was working but it was an ectopic. My mom worked through her pregnencies and she has 2 healthy ones ( Me and my sis).I honestly don't think working and m/c are related unless it involves heavy lifting or something too strenuous.
