Just a reminder.... You must either link TTC info or type it in your own words... It's an issue with copyrights Now have fun and post away!

Did you know eating a lot of peas and/or soy can prevent you from concieving? (It was in the Getting Pregnant book) I guess they are doing a study to use pea oil as a natural contraceptive.... I hate peas so that one is easy for me.... Dave has been cut off from peas for months...LOL

Allergy and cold medicine that drys up you sinuses also dries up your CM and that makes it really had for the sperm to swim and stay alive... Silly me was taking Advil Cold and Sinus almost daily, sometimes right before O... I didn't even think it could be a bad thing...

Robitussin increases CM and makes it easier for the sperm to swim and stay alive... I hate the taste of this stuff...but it's worth it if it might help.

This one may be TMI... you shouldn't have oral sex by either partner when TTC... bacteria in saliva can harm sperm and make it hard to fertilize an egg. (Getting Pregnant book again)

Having sex in a pool can stop you from conceiving....the cholrine can alter a womens internal PH level and make it hostile for sperm... so no sex in the pool if you want a baby

Sooo does anyone else have some fun facts to add?

Well the only one that pops out in my head that you didnt' already mention is that when you prop your hips up after BDing, don't prop them up too high because the spermies will get stuck behind your cervix...one pillow is good. I got that from a fertility book I have.

I had no idea about peas & soy !!!

My mom and Aunts told me to take Vitamin E ? so I bought a big ol bottle, stopped drinking skim milk, increasing whole dairy, and still taking prenatals just in case too.
I read somewhere here about baby aspirin, but I dont know what that does? any ladies heard of doing that ??

drink more water and decrease or do away with the caffeine in your diet. If you take antihistamines you will want to stop taking them or reduce the amount that you take because these not only dry up the sinuses, they also dry up your cervical mucus! Increasing your fluid intake and doing away with caffeine and antihistamines will likely make your cervical mucus be much more fertile so that you have a better chance of becoming pregnant. increased fluids, a reduction in caffeine, and limiting or doing away with your antihistamines doesnt seem to provide an improvement in the fertile quality of your cervical mucus you may want to try Evening Primrose Oil.

grapefruit juice helps to increase the quality of cervical mucus. I swear by grapefruit juice, so its worth a try if you are willing. If nothing else, grapefruit juice will get more fluids in you, which will help product more fertile mucus!

Make Love in the Morning FOR THE MEN...LOL
Research shows that a man's sperm count is higher in the morning, and most women notice that men are naturally 'in the mood' at this time anyway. Take advantage of it! Keep it Cool
Men have a higher sperm count when their genitals are kept at a cooler temperature. So have him stay away from hot tubs and hot showers, and reap the befits.Have some Wine
While abusing alcohol can be a serious problem for a growing fetus, research has shown that drinking a glass of wine each night can actually help you get pregnant!Enjoy Life!
There are so many people who stress about becoming pregnant - and once they release that stress, their body reacts to the new peace by creating a new life. Let your body know that this is a wonderful, peaceful world that is ready for a new child, and release that stress.

Well most of this i called my grandma about. the Evening Primrose oil works well, i used it on all my children and it works. im not a pop drinker or a coffee nut, but i like the grapefruit pop. well thats what i know..lol..i hope that helps..

hmmmmm . . . I did NOT know about grapefruit juice!!! Hopefully sweetening it won't affect its abilities! not a big fan plain grapefruits! at least, not without alot of sugar!!!
Wanted to add something on the milk issue - There was an article in Discover a few months back about a preliminary study done that seemed to show that women who drank more milk had a higher incidence of twins, and they felt this was due to the growth hormones fed the cows, apparently it "helps" women to ovulate more! The study was done in England I think.

All this info is so fun. I would have never thought of or have heard of half of these things--I mean other than the pillow thing and the guys keeping their bits cool.
As far as the baby asprin goes, the one university teaching hospital here is doing a study with women who are TTC and the use of baby asprin. Apparently because it is an "anticoagulant and an anti-inflammatory agent. It may aid in implantation of the egg in the uterine wall, and has potential for producing a positive effect on blood flow to the placenta. It may aid in reducing preeclampsia."--its from an article in Science Daily about the study that UB and the University of Utah are doing. The participants are women who are TTC after having a m/c. May be worth taking that baby asprin!!

I didn't know you should only use one pillow. That is a good one. Actually I got pg last time with two pillows...hee hee. Somehow I thought the higher the better. DH gets mad. He says his boys know where to go! They don't need directions! LMAO!
