So on Sunday I tested with an opk because I had a lot of EWCM. It looked to be positive to me. It was not darker than the control line, but it appeared to be the same color and intensity. So I tested all day yesterday and when I did the test line was actually much darker than the control line. I also tested today with my last test when I woke up and it was still very dark and positive. I am confused because I am trying to figure out when I ovulated or when I will ovulate if it is still coming. I am on CD 18 of a 29 day cycle today. I guess I am a very late ovulator??? Should I test tomorrow and see if it is still dark? If I do ovulate today or tomorrow that means I have a LP of 11 or 10 days, is that a problem???? Sorry about all the questions, but I could use some cycle wisdom here! TY ALL

Wow, we are on the same exact schedule, except I am a day behind I think - I also have 28-29 day cycles..I am on CD 17 today and got my first bold positive OPK this afternoon. I myself was calculating the dates and figured if I ovulated at the latest (48 hours) it would put me at CD mid-morning on 8/23 (CD 19) - leaving me with a luteal phase of 10 days too.

As of right now, I have started taking some B6 vitamins because I think thats what helped me the last time I got preggo in June. I got a positive OPK on CD 17 (June 6th) as well - and got a faint barely there positive preggo test (FRER) on CD 27 (June 17th). Unfortunately I miscarried on July 6th. Now that I think of it too, my cycles were 26 days then, even shorter. So yeah, I think its possible to conceive with a 10 day luteal phase - I have already if that helps to encourage you!

PS - I think your OPK test was most likely positive on Sunday when you first got the bold line, but you are still getting them even today because it takes a little bit sometimes for the levels to fade out. The surge happens in your blood first, then urine - it leaves in the same manner as well. I think I said that right!

TY so much for the info. That really helps me to try and sort things out. I am a little worried about miscarrying again. I lost my last one at 7 wks. But I had a Sub Chorionic Hematoma and low progesterone so hopefully this next time will be easier. Just very worried ya know....... p.s. I wish OPK's were a little easier. THey can be so frustrating.... Ahhhh feel better....

Just a thought......

Sometimes you body get ready to O and then for whatever reason doesn't O and then tries again. If AF is late this month that may be why (due to the late O). You LP may remain the same, but O was late making AF late... does that make sense?

Before my m/c I am pretty sure I Oed around CD12. When I started charting I was Oing on CD15-16. I think I was stressing myself out and messing up my body. This month I Oed on CD 13 and was feeling pretty relaxed about TTC.

My cycles are usually 27-29 days long and last cycle I O'd on CD18 so I would think that you may just O late! Try BD-ing and hope you catch that eggie!!

I'm no expert, but I think that once you get a positive OPK result, then you should ovulate within 24-48 hours after that time. I would keep bd-ing and testing until after you get no more positive results. Are you temping as well? That would probably tell you when you ovulated (but unfortunately, with temping you can only tell when you've ovulated AFTER you've ovulated).

Good luck, and go bd as much as possible!!
