I just had D&C on Saturday, stopped bleeding completely on Sunday and ever since. Today I am having all my "usual" PMS symptoms.....is it possible that I could have my regular period so soon? If I had not been pregnant in June or July, my period should be starting around August 24th. Although I did not m/c naturally (body didn't "realize" that the last two weeks before my U/S that the heart stopped/growth stopped) could my hormones have already started adjusting?
I don't see my dr. till the 30th, so thougtht I would ask around here if anyone else has had a "normal" cycle soon after a M/C.
Of course it very well could be hopeful wishing on my part and simply my body still adjusting....
Cheerio!

Melissa...

Anything is possible after m/c. It sounds like you hormones may just be going back to normal and the change in hormones may make you feel like it's PMS. I would do a HPT to see if it still shows positive. (If you can handle seeing a positive emotionally) Then you will get an idea of if your levels are low enough for AF to show. I got AF 4 weeks to the day after my D&C. Some women don't get AF till at least 8 weeks later. Having a missed m/c myself I think your levels do go down starting when our babies became angels. I showed negative on a HPT pretty fast. I would have to look it up in my loss journal to see exactly when.

I do hope AF will be an early one for you. It helps to finally have that first AF to feel normal again.

Hope that helps a little and.... Lots of love....
Bobbie

Thank you for that advice, I will take a PG test. I can handle doing that, mostly because I am trying to use my "analytical" side of my brain right now!
Thank you again!!!

Melissa,
I just had to say I'm right there with you. I haven't really felt PMS like but I've been moody and rather accustomed it to grief. I had my D&C on Friday. I had very light spotting until Monday night and then all the sudden it picked up. For the last couple of days I have bled heavier and last night had cramps and clotting. Felt very much like my period and when it took a while for it to show up I wondered if it could be AF. This would be close to when I should have normally had AF and I too had a missed m/c. Dr said she thought at about 13wks so that would be about 4 wks ago. It all makes sense and I read somewhere that m/c and the decline of hormones can trigger ovulation. I however will not be POAS to find out, I wouldn't be able to handle that right now. I would love to talk to you more though since our tragedys were so close. PM me if you like.

Well I took the HPT and to my dismay it still showed positive (a bittersweet feeling for me). So it looks like my PMS symptoms are really just my hormones adjusting and not a sign of AF.....gee, I've never looked more forward to her visit in my entire life!
I don't know what I was thinking, it's been less than a week since the D&C. AF will come when she is darn good and ready. Period. (no pun intended )

Courtney, I am so sorry for your recent loss too..everyday brings a mix bag of emotions, at least for me. Today my spirits are actually pretty good and I have my sense of humor about me...tomorrow I may grow horns. PM me anytime!
