Just curious for those of you that have given birth, did your af change much? I noticed that I have far more clotting now. I wonder if it has anything to do with my blood clotting disorders, the meds that I am on for it, or just a normal pp thing?

Rhonda,

sorry I can't be of much help,as I have yet to experience giving birth, but I guess it could be possible for it to change, My periods have changed since my miscarriage.I am sure your dr. can give you a better answer or maybe mommies in the "mommy lounge" "first time mommies" or "women's health" forums may have some input.

good luck,

Dee

Rhonda,

Sorry to hear AF's are worse for you now

I think maybe you meant to post this on another board?

Anyways... my AF's after my kids were normal. After my m/c is a whole different story.

I would talk to your doctor about the clotting if you haven't yet.

Dee and Bobbie thanks for your help. I guess I didn't know where to post. My daughter was stillborn just 5 months ago and ever since then AF is a complete nightmare for all kinds of reasons. I found out that I am homozygous for mthfr and elevated antiphosplipid. Anyways, I am just trying to figure out what is "normal". I think ever since losing my daughter everything has changed for me. My cycles are all over the place. The 2nd month PP it was 42 days long with a 9 day LP, then the next month was 34 days long, with a 12 day LP, and now this month it was only 24 days long, and a 12-14 day LP. I just want to be regular or "normal" and get pregnant and have a healthy screaming baby at the end of 9 months!! Sigh..maybe I will post somewhere else to see if AF is normal after birth.

Bobbie, how are yours different after the mc if you don't mind me asking? I just worry that clots this size are something to worry about.

I am getting a little discouraged because ttc seems so difficult when I never know when I am going to O until after the fact. I know this is only the 3rd cycle of ttc after my daughter, Abby but it just feels like it is never going to happen. It took 5 years to get pregnant with her. Now I don't even know when to bd and even when we have timed it right still BFN's.

Sorry, must be the hormones kicking in! The just needs to hurry up and leave and not show her face for another 9 months for all of us!

Rhonda,

I am so sorry for your loss...I had no idea It is so hard to know what is "normal" . Our bodies can REALLY do strange things. the first 2 cycles after my loss were a MESS !!!! I bled for so long after my m/c they seemed to just run right into each other!
now AF'S have gotten more regular, ( on time ) but are shorter & a little lighter. ???
it's all so confusing, but I do believe that our bodies, in time heal , and get back on track, sometimes though not as quick as we would like !!!!

I hope you get some answers from the ladies that can help you & Welcome to the board.

take care,
Dee

Mrs.Poe, let me first say I'm sorry for your loss. I delivered my son stillborn last October at 5months pregnant. My cycles have been horrible since. It took me 2 months(January) to get AF back lasted almost 2 weeks. I think I skpped the next month. Had cycles March and April (30 day cycles)they both lasted about week. Skipped May completely. I had a cycle in June and July. I haven't had one this month. Yes I sometimes have really bad flows and clots. I don't have the disorder though. So my cycles are a real big mess. I have dr.appt next month so we can figure out what's going on.

Rhonda,

My af's since my m/c have been worse than normal. This last one was much more like my m/c than an af. Horrible cramping to the point of feeling like contractions and passing clots that look more like tissue than clots. I know TMI! LOL

I understand your frustration. It took us over four years to get pregnant with our angel. I am now on cycle 7 and no luck yet. I feel like time is running out for me

Have you tried to just BD every other day? I know it gets tiring but that way you would cover any day that you O on. I would be more worried about the LP being so different than anything else. Did your doc tell you to take progesterone?

I hear ya about the witch... if I never see her again it will be too soon

bobbie, no I haven't seen my OB since my 6 week pp. I have seen many other doctors though, hematologist, endocrinoligist, family dr., and even a nutrionalist. Oh, I am also type 1 diabetic. Anyways my LP the first two months were only 9 days, so I started taking B6 along with all of the other meds, and so the very next month it jumped to 12 days and is staying fairly consistant (2 months now). I never had a problem with progesterone before, so I thought maybe my body just needs a little more time. I am planning on seeing my OB in a couple more months to see what we can do to get this ball rolling. I am still feeling these empty arms, and I want Abby to have a baby brother or sister in the very near future!! I will let you all know what I find out. I really felt pregnant and took several tests and when I started spotting I thought maybe implantation, and then af came in full force. I almost thought this was another mc, but I never got a bfp on hpt, so I guess it is better not knowing for sure. I have had 2 mc's prior to losing my Abby and I would compare this af to that of a mc.

MommytoKayla, I am so sorry for your loss too! Sometimes I think life is the most cruel joke, not only losing our babies, but also causing so much havoc on our bodies too. Do you know why you lost your little boy, or was there no known reason? Sorry if I am asking too much.

You're definitely not asking too much. I love talking about my boy now more than anything. The short time I had with him was a very happy moment in my life. Just as happy as I was with my daughter. I sent you a message with the info Rhonda.
