Still coming up positive loud and proud. I know the doctor told me to wait till Thursday to test again but I was bored this afternoon and said, what the heck....poas. My D & C was 15 days ago.
I have never wanted to see a BFN so bad in my life (ok so maybe a couple of times many years ago ) Or have wanted AF to visit. I am realizing that I do not possess the patience I have always thought I had.
If it still comes up positve next Thursday I may have an out of body experience.

Am I making a wrong assumption, since my HCG levels are high enough to give a BFP I shouldn't be able to get pregnant right now? I ask only because we have been DTD the last 3 days in a row and not using protection. I figured since I have preg. hormones STILL I am not ovulating yet.

First, I'm sorry for your loss. Is your doctor not doing blood tests for hcg? I'd say that it is probably left over and you shouldn't O until it is completely gone.

No my doctor did not take any blood at my 2 week post op appt. In fact she looked puzzled that I still was getting positve hpt's. All she told me was that it seemed odd to her and asked that I take another hpt in a week (next Thursday) and call if it's still positive. Go figure.

I just wanted to post and first of all say how sorry I am that you went through a m/c. It is def. a hard thing to go through. But your doctor should be monitoring your beta's to make sure they are going down. I was still giving postive test for a long time after my m/c. It took nearly a month for them to go all the way down. If you are still getting postive test then I would seek out the doctor for blood work or maybe try talkign to a different doctor.

*hugs*

I hope this all is resolved soon for you hun

Much love

Crys

Melissa,

I bet you see a BFN in the next couple days. It took a while to get my BFN too. For some reason I remember it being about two weeks. My doctor didn't do blood draws either after my m/c. I wonder how common it really is for a doctor to do them?

I am not really sure about betas and ovulating? I thought I read somewhere that you can't O if your body still thinks it's pregnant.

I will have to google it for you

Lots of to you.

Melissa. I wanted to let you know that I had my D&C on July 20th at 11 wks pregnant... and the HCG just last week went below the 10 HCG. It can take awhile to not show a positive pregnancy test. Have they been checking your levels weekly to see them dropping??

You can conceive prior to getting your first period, we had also had some unprotected sex a few weeks after the D&C. The best thing is to have the HCG levels checked by blood though.

I was so excited when my doctor called me last week and said that my blood test finally came up negative! Now in just a week.. I am already waiting for the day they call me and say positive.. This stuff really can drive us all crazy huh!

Good luck to you.... I hope you get the REAL BFP you are looking for soon!
