I asked him to build me a pantry in the kitchen. I told him how I wanted it. He is building the soffit for the cabinet tonight. And then when I find the doors ...or decide what I want the doors to look like he(or his Dad) will build the rest. I am taking bets as to wether he can see my "vision" or not!
Any betting women out there?
I will post pics of the progress.

How exciting!! I'm not going to bet though cuz if he's anything like my husband he won't see your vision of it! LOL. But I do think it will look great!!

LMAO.... yeah well... he never really sees my vision.... but he does re-do it until he gets it right
I do hear the drill and saw every couple minutes...so I am guessing he is making progress.... hmmmm
We'll see.

I wish I could just ask for a new kitchen and my DH would just make it. You are so lucky! It won't be your vision but it will still be nice I am just. Can't wait to see pics!

Oh goody, I love a good project! My husband is a General Contractor so in our home there is almost always a project. Right now it's our front yard. BTW, how do you post a picture on here???? I tried to cut/paste a pic but the function didn't exist??

You girls are the best!
So far so good on the soffit. I think it's going to turn out great. I think he actually got it this time Maybe cause I told him he can't drink more than one beer until I O. (Wouldn't want to harm those silly sperm!)
This kitchen will never be done. If you click on the link in my siggy to pics and then at the bottom is the album for our remodel of this house, you will see what we have done to this place. It was a DUMP when we bought it...but the price was right The kitchen was finished once and then I decided I really didn't like how the living room, kitchen and dining room were all open. So we gutted the entire space, added onto the living room, put up a couple walls, put in new flooring...and I am finally happy with the layout overall. The kitchen is a little bit too big though. I wish I had made the living room two feet wider and the kitchen two feet smaller. But oh well!
We still have tons of projects to finish on this house, but it's getting there slowly. Once all the real work is done I need to buy new furniture. We were living in a townhouse and space was tight. Now I want a sectional couch and a huge dining room table. Hopefully at tax time we will be ready to buy it.
Melissa, to post pics you have to have a www.photobucket.com account. It's really easy to set up and it's free. Once you upload the pics you want all you do is resize them to "message board" and then copy and paste the img link.
If you set up the account I would be happy to walk you through it.

Here are some pics....Enjoy our choas!
This was the kitchen when we bought the house. YUCK! LOL
This was in the process how I had it originally.....
The almost finished kitchen before I decided I didn't like it.... That's my sweet Jesse James in the pic. He was hit by a car on Halloween He was not an outdoor cat, but got out when we weren't looking.
The almost finished kitchen as it is now.... we are still working on the stain color on the cabinets. Some touch up painting and accessories still need to be done.
To the left of the fridge is where the pantry is being built this week. Not sure what I am going to do with the water cooler or wine fridge. We'll see. In the first picture the open space facing the kitchen is where this wall went up...creating the living room.
In this picture you can see how we got rid of the dining room (room off the kitchen in the original pic) and opened the front white wall up making the kitchen open to the new dining room. The hallway to the right...behind the kitchen wall leads to the back of the house where the laundry room and our bedroom and bathroom are. The hallway to the right goes to the kids bedrooms and bathroom.
Poor Dave did all the work by himself.

Thanks girls
I found doors for the pantry... well the doors I REALLY want have to be special ordered but for now we found some *sale* ones at Lowes for $10! The handles cost more than the doors! LOL I will post pics once they are hung. So far it looks really good. Hopefully by next year we can order the really expensive ones

This is how it looks so far. Should be totally done in a day or so. Darn drywall mud is taking forever to dry. It's really cold, damp and rainy here today. We did put a space heater in from of it...so hopefully it will dry faster
