Hi ladies, My name is Dana and I had a m/c yesterday. A little background, I was on day late (aug19)and tested an got a faint bfp, the next day my dd had her 9mo check and while there I asked them to do a test, well it cam back a faint positive so they did a blood test and my hcg came back at 28.5 which is low but I was only 2 days late so I would have only been right around 4 weeks pg- don't know how many dpo. He told me to wait two weeks and retest, well I couldn't wait that long and took another test a couple days later and the pink line got much darker and came right away- just like when pg with dd, so I was confident that I was pg. I never went back in to get a blood test done again to se if the numbers were going back up as my MD was out of town and I have never had problems in the past. So..... I would have been almost 6weeks.... At about 1030am yesterday morning I started bleeding only when I wiped, at 430 I called the hospital and they had me come in because I was having some discomfort in my right lower abdomen. They did a vaginal ultrasound ( they wanted to make sure I didn't have an eptopic pg)and did not see anything, and my hcg was only 12.5. Later that night the bleeding got much heavier and bright red. This am I started passing clots, won't go into detail but also passed what I think may have been the embryo.

Okay my questions....
Do I need to go see my primary for a follow up visit?
How long should I expect to bleed? Only pads or can I use tampons?
When can I start trying again?
Anything else they do when have m/c? medications needed?
Any other side effects? Any restrictions, lifting, resting, working?

To answer some of your questions.....
Yes I would go for a follow-up visit.
My loss was at 14 weeks and I bled for two weeks.
My doc said ONLY pads. Which I HATE..... but followed his orders

I also wanted you to know there is a board called Pregnancy Loss and the ladies there are wonderful too. You might want to check it out.

Im so so so sry for ur loss. ive had 3 late losses one at 27 wks and one at 25wks and one at 20 wks. but u and ur family are in my thoughts and prayers.

Yeah you should go actually u need to go and make sure everythings good to go

this varys from woman to woman

only use pads

As soon as the dr. gives u the green light

just relax and do as dr. says

Varies.I bled for a month.

My doc suggested 2 mos.

I was bleeding for a month so my doc said I'm passing out on my own.For others I have read they do a D&C.Check with your doc hon.

Take it easy for a couple of days.I had backache and severe cramps for a couple of days.After that I went back to work.
