Has anyones SO had a SA done?? Do you have to get it done at a special doctor, or do they do it at a family doctor or something?? Also, has anyone tried the at home tests? Are they any good, do they tell you if the sperm are any good or what?? My dh hasnt agreed to getting one done, i want him to do this for me so badly and i think he is total denial that there could possibly be anything wrong with his swimmers, a guy thing i guess, but i need to know this, because i cant think of any other reason why we cant have a baby and i need to know what were up against here...uhh im just so frusterated and down...i dont know what to do anymore, if anyone has ANY info on SA please let me know, i know nothing about them and would like to get educated about it...thanks ladies!

I don't have much info... but my doctor wants it done this month. He gave us a referal and now all Dave has to do is call his primary for s referal too. It is done at the specialists office here. I will have to look up the exact tytpe of DR. it is when I get home.

I have thought about the at home ones. We may give in and do that too. It's only $100. I can think of 100 better ways to spend $100 ...but it might be worth it if it's going to take a while to have it done at the Dr's. I fianlly told Dave it isn't fair that I have to do all this really painful testing and his is sooo easy...and he NEEDS to do it. If not I refuse to TTC any longer. He got the point

I will find more info for you when I get home from work....

My DH had it done. It is completely painless although they always pictures worse. You can "deposit" at home and then run it into a lab. You can take the sample in for him too. He doesn't have to "hand it in" which is what I think scares most men. I think dr's are pretty willing to do one. I have never heard of a dr saying no to one. You should go to your dr and ask.

PS - Your chart looks awesome! Are you still testing BFN?

I can't find the paper with the name at the moment to see what kind of a Dr. it was but you are still in this. Don't give up hope yet. It's really early still. If it makes you feel better do a chart search on FF and put in BFN before BFP and late BFP. You will see how many women gets lots of BFN's before they get a BFP.

It always helps me feel better about my chances to look at charts It's NOT over yet girl!

My DH had one done a while back..... My obgyn gave the referall for him to go.... he went to a clinic that spec. in infertility, I think the Dr. was acctually a urologist (? not 100% on that). My dh went pretty easy.... I just told him there would be nudy mags there and he went with only a little kicking and screaming . I hope this helps a bit....... good luck
