Ok, so DF and I are supposed to get married in April. I can't seem to get into the planning. I picked out a dress and that's about as far as I can get. I can't wait to get married but I just can't get into the planning! I wanted to just go off to Vegas and get married. Or even Puerto Rico, St. Thomas, ANYTHING! I really don't think I am into the stress of the planning....

But I just finished looking at the post with the wedding pictures and I am so torn now. It was gorgeous and I know this is the only chance that I will have at having a big wedding. If I don't do it now I never will. Deep down in my heart I don't want the big wedding, but there is a part of me that feels like I should.

DF is the one pushing for the big wedding, where as I would rather do something smaller and low key.

Why don't you compromise and have a small wedding with about 50 people? That shouldn't be too hard to plan. Honestly I think some women go WAAAAYYYY overboard with the details. It doesn't have to be the madness some brides seem to thrive on....I am thinking about "Underage and Engaged" on MTV. Talk about crazy!

If we get married it will be on a cruise ship with just our family there and anyone else who can afford to go.

All that really matters at the end of the day is that you two are married Go with what will make you the happiest.

Jenn,

I totally agree with Bobbie....it doesn't matter how many courses the meals were, how many rose petals were thrown around, fountains, ice sculptures, desserts, centerpieces, table linens, does it all match? does every one like what is being served?...............all that matters is you are married at the end of the day. Planning should be fun, not stressful. I did the planning of the Big Typical Italian Wedding.........was STRESSED the entire time.....and broke up 4 months before it ( THANK GOODNESS) ~~~~
Mick & I are planning for something small next summer..something WE will enjoy without worrying about Sooooooo many unnecessary added attractions.

I honestly would love to go get married somewhere and then do a big party at home with friends and family. I got a free week in a suite at the new Hilton Resort on the Las Vegas strip. I'm Diamond Elite with Hilton, and it was a free perk. I just suggested to DF that we go to Vegas and get married and he said, "Let's do it!" However, he's had a few drinks so let's see if he still says that in the morning.
