I'm new to these boards, but I am already blessed reading your posts and replies. I am feeling a guarded hope after reading your stories of the experiences you've had. I had just learned last week that I was pregnant, but then Friday morning began bleeding. I called my doctor immediately, but she wasn't able to see me Friday. She told me to rest all weekend, until she could take a look at my blood test results on Monday (today.) I buried myself in the "What to Expect" book, praying for some answers. I bled all Friday and Saturday, passing small blood clots, and then stopped bleeding - save for an occasional spot or two - Sunday morning. The bleeding was never heavy by my normal period standards, never "soaking" a napkin, and while there was some pain, it was short-lived (stopping around lunchtime on Friday) and not as severe as a normal period cramp. Still, given what I was reading, I have pretty much accepted what I feared: m/c.

I know this is probably futile, and maybe just my clinging to that guarded hope, but I've now read that many of you bled for days, weeks - much heavier than I have - and still carried full-term babies. I don't "feel" pregnant anymore, but I understand that feeling can be as much psychological as physiological. Have any of you had similar circumstances with happier endings than I'm fearing we'll have? My doctor has not called yet. I am trying not to bother the office, keeping in mind that the results may not have been received as early today as they had expected, if today at all. I don't know if she'll have me come in for an exam, or just be able to tell something from the bloodwork. I want to be realistic - but I have to imagine that many of you who have had an episode like this and gone on to have successful pregnancies probably had a few days of doubt and fear, assuming the worst, before you learned of the miracle that your baby was okay.

If things are as they appear, then I guess you'll be seeing a little more of me on this board. I know we'll have to wait a cycle or two, but we'll still be TTC.

Every time I had an internal u/s I had really bad bleeding...
Literally leaving a puddle behind me!!!
It was really, really scary!!!

Each time, they tested and told me that everything was OK.
Come to find out, I have a super-sensitive cervix (who would have thunk it!)

I hope that you, too, find that everything is fine!!!

Good luck and keep us updated!
Hugs!
Dawna

Welcome to the board, and I am so sorry for what you are going thru right now! Cramping & bleeding is pretty common during early pregnancy, and dr's will tell you not to worry unless the bleeding is heavy/bright red/clots. But even then it's not assured that you're having a m/c.
A friend of a friend had heavy cramping/bleeding/clots in early pregnancy and her dr told her she was having a m/c. they apparently never followed up with beta levels though, or maybe she just never went back to have them tested. She went back to the dr 3 months later though bc she was rapidly gaining weight and didn't know why. She hadn't gotten her AF yet either, but she wasn't suprised as she always had irregular AF's. Turned out she was still pg, and went on to have a healthy baby.
I hope you get good news from your appt!

Welcome to Just Mommies

I hope your stay here will be in a DueDateClub and not here with us

I know of two ladies on JM that have bled really bad in the begining and everything was okay. One m/c a twin and didn't know it was twins at first. The other bled very early and still is pregnant to this day.

I will be praying for you. I hope everything turns out okay. Keep us posted ....
