I had my blood drawn last Tuesday and had an hcg of 97. The nurse told me to take a urine pregnancy test the next week and make sure it was negative.

Well I took one this morning with FMU and got a faint positive. I've got to try the doctor's office again in a minute; no one picked up when I called earlier.

Could this be normal? Maybe it's just dropping slowly? I'm really hoping they don't end up saying that I DO need a D&C, would they do that for a very low hcg level?

Oh and it's been a little over 3 weeks since the miscarriage and I was 8 weeks or so along.

Well the nurse talked to the doctor and she said I could still be getting the positive because HPTs are pretty sensitive these days. So she said to wait another week and repeat it again.

It is pretty depressing to look at it too. Because it doesn't mean what it ought to mean.

Aww, Shannon my heart just ached when I read your post. I was also 8wks but I did have a D & C because my body didn't realize it was not viable (a missed m/c). I also took HPT's at home and mine came up positive a solid 2weeks after (and usually with a D&C your HCG drops faster). Finally at 2weeks and 4 days it was negative.
Like you said, it was hard to look at those positive tests.
I feel for you. For me it did feel better (odd as it may sound) once I saw a negative test. It meant I was one step closer to TTC again. But nothing will replace the sorrow for your Angel. T&P.

Aww Sweetie,
I know exactly what you mean,
it is the hardest positive to look at....I was in tears every post m/c hpt I took...and Melissa is right, you will start to feel better after a bfn, odd as that may sound....

That is the one time when two lines suck! GRRRR

A faint positive is a better sign than a blaring positive though. I bet next week it's a BFN.

I am sending lots and lots of
