Hi. I wish I were not having to post here but life will go on. I found out Oct 13 I was pg with baby 2. I started cramping that Wed. and by Friday I had started spotting. (Light pink) On Sunday it was brown discharge in the morning and red mucous in the afternoon. I called my Dr and he had me come in yesterday am. When I woke up yesterday and throughout the day, I was passing small stringy blood clots. I tested positive on their pg test but they could not find the gestational sac. They drew blood and I have to go back tomorrow afternoon to have it drawn again. He said based on what I was telling him and he was not seeing, I was probably having a miscarriage. How long does this last? Will my body have a period to clean my uterus? How long does it take for that to happen? Please advise and I am very distraught right now. PS I already got the pep talk about crying and then moving on and trying again. Thanks

I am really sorry you are going through all of this.
Every loss is different, depending how far along you are etc.It can take up to 2 weeks for the actual m/c to start...
Some women will bleed for 2 weeks, some less than that.
Most if the time it takes 6-8 weeks before you get your period again, and it may take a few cycles to get back to "normal"
You may also want to check out the Pregnancy Loss Board, there is quite a bit of info posted there also.
Take Care,
Dee

I'm so sorry sweetie!!!

My m/c lasted a weekend long, started on a Friday ended on a Monday. I got my first cycle 32 days after the bleeding had stopped.

I agree, head on over to the Pregnancy Loss board, there's a lot of information on there!

I really think everyone's different. When I was "waiting to m/c" I read some many stories and they were all different.

I was 11 weeks and the bleeding lasted about 8 days with the heaviest about 3 days

So sorry and best of luck

Hi! I am so sorry you are going through this. For me I bled for about a week may be closer to 10 days and then had spotting for another week and then started my period 27 days after the miscarriage. I had a natural miscarriage both times. I am sorry that some one gave you that STUPID pep talk...it doesn't work that way. We have all been there and are here for you. Each of our experiences are different and just know that you will go through this process differently than anyone else, your emotions and reactions are all normal and you owe no one an explination or justification. Just know when you are ready to try again this board will be here and we will support you in any way we can.

I am so sorry

No Pep talks here. Cry all you want and then cry some more. Don't ever feel bad for "not getting over it" like some people IRL seem to think is so easy to do. It gets easier to wake up and breathe every day, but the sadness never goes away and most people don't quite understand that unless they have lived it. We all understand your pain.... and we welcome you with open arms.

About the bleeding... mine lasted two weeks... I was 14 weeks when I lost mine. I got AF 28 days after the m/c.

Again.... lots of

I am soo sorry for your loss. When I had a natural m/c with my second loss I pasted clots for about a day and a half then I bled for a week and a half after that. You will be a period but they say it can take 6-8 weeks. I got mine after both around 40 days. We are all here for you if you need anything, someone to listen or to vent to. We all know what your going through and can help you any way we can.

Thank you all so much. It's good to be able to talk to others who have gone through the same thing. I'm confused though. Why if I'm miscarrying am I not having "serious" bleeding? I don't even have to wear a pantyliner. I still have the cramping though. Today is 5weeks 4 days pg (if I am) so the cramping started at 4 weeks 4 days and the spotting at 4 weeks 6 days. Hopefully, this afternoon I will learn more. I am just wondering if this could be a eutopic pg? Did you all bleed like an emptying of the uterus or spot? Maybe TMI but when AF comes I go through a pad and tampon in about 2 hours for 2 days. I'm having less blood loss now than I did with my IUD. Weird.

Thanks so much for sharing. I'm hoping I can get through my first day back at work tomorrow. I broke down yesterday morning and left.

When I went to pick up my son (2), I was talking to him about kissing his baby (he has one he takes care of at Nana's) he climbed off the couch and lifted my shirt to kiss the baby instead. I nearly lost it.

Everyone is very different sweetie, I'm sorry you're going through the whole questioning period right now. I can't give you an answer as to why you're not having "serious" bleeding. Have you gone back to have your blood re-drawn? Maybe your doctor can give you more answers.

Sending lots of your way!!!

I went back today and he confirmed it. He doesn't know why my bleeding is like that. Thanks for everything. It will be a while before I get back in the game. Have a good day and I wish you all the best of luck

aaaaw hon,
I am sorry again....

with my loss, I did start spotting early in the pregnancy.....and after it was diagnosed as a "missed m/c" my dr. told me it would probably start in 2 weeks or so....it did take a few weeks for the bleeding to start, and it was heavy, very very heavy...
maybe you won't have a heavy flow with it...( I truly hope you don't)..just really pay attention to how you are feeling though ok?
take care of yourself

Dee

I hate to say this but the bleeding will become heavier and you will have some sever cramping before this is all over. I had spotting with both of mine for about a week before I actually miscarried. I am sorry you have to through this, just know we are here. I was about 6 weeks with my first miscarriage and 10 weeks with the second one. HTH!
Hugs!
