since you are all " my girls", and I feel the most comfortable with all of you...
I am going to share what I have decided to do......you may or may not agree with it and that is fine, but I just hope you understand my reasonings for this.....

I have decided NOT to rush right out to a dr., personally, I feel it would be waaaaay too early to see anything on u/s, and do not want to go throught the worrying about not seeing anything this early like what I was put through last time.
I have been on my prenatals for a month, I have my insulin to keep that blood sugar in check, and as long as I am not spotting/and or bleeding, I really would like to wait to go see a dr. Does this make any sense to you? I often think about women who didnt know there were pregnant until they were further along than I am now....and have read that seeing a dr. between 6 & 8 wks is ok....I know many of you will think I am nuts, and thats ok......but this is what I want to do this time around. After a torturous first 4 weeks last time, from DAY 1, I can not go through it again, I would like to enjoy this time right now.....I feel really really good about this.

I figured I'd get this out in the open now.....

Dee

Dee my doctor doesn't even see patients until 8 weeks unless there is a problem. I support your decision 100%. I think it is more important to be relaxed and worry free instead of the constant worry of what is and isn't normal on an u/s. Enjoy every minute of this pregnancy as stress free as possible.

Dee--I think you should do whatever you are most comfortable with. If you can justify waiting, then who am I to tell you your doing something wrong!! If it will help you to be more relaxed...then wwwaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhooooooooooooooooo ooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!

Normally my dr doesn't see anyone until they are 8 - 12 weeks, but if there is a history of problem he wants to see them right away.
Good luck, and I hope you like your new dr!!!

I understand completely! After my molar preg last Sept, my drs wanted me to come in right away to monitor my HCG levels. It drove me crazy both times. I'd go in & have my blood drawn and then worry until I got the results the next day. The bw didn't seem to do me any good because I've since lost 2 more. I've decided that I'm not going to call them the next time until I'm ready for the standard 8wk appointment... and I feel better already! The important thing is to take care of yourself & stressing out about the doctor or bloodwork or u/s doen't help anyone.
Wishing you all the best!

I can understand that. There is no point in doing an ultrasound until you are 6-7 weeks because you won't see a baby until then. And what else can they do? They can check your hcg levels, but knowing them is not going to change anything and it may just stress you out.

The only thing I can think of is if your progesterone is low, they might give you that.

Dee,

I can relate and can definitely understand. Knowing so early, combined with our other experiences makes the first weeks of what should be a joyous occasion mostly nerve-racking, particularly if you are getting your blood levels checked and running to the dr every 5 minutes. When I get my bfp, I'll have to go to the dr because of the lovenox injections, but I am not going to keep repeating my hcg's like before - its just too stressful. Relax, take excellent care of yourself, and enjoy the miracle that is happening in your body.

Dee, my doctor wont take someone unless there is a problem. he takes them at 8 weeks along, then he sets up the u/s and all that fun stuff. I agree on what your doing, but theres no harm in making the appointment monday for later on in the road..

Congrats again!

I agree-I think your idea sounds totally fair. As a lot of other ppl said, most OBgyns don't even want to see you until you are farther along. Good luck with everything!!
