I went in for the follow up for the D&C. He said the tests showed I was Oing at the time of surgery (Oct 10th). I was SURE I Oed two days before. That is so weird! Now I am really wondering if it's worth it to even bother using Fertility Friend.

Anyhow.... he wants to see me again at the start of my next cycle.... and then decide where we go from there

So there is my medical update

How long ago did you have the D&C? I have absolutely no idea when I ovulate or how to chart or anything! I'll have to ask my doctor next time. I had a D&C 12 days ago, went to the doc twice already, have really low blood pressure but that's all. I go again next Tuesday to make sure it goes up. Do you have a pelvic exam after a D&C? I want to know if there's anything "wrong" with me.

I'm glad all is well with your health!!

Erika,

My D&C was on Oct.10th to remove a Polyp... not for a m/c so the tests they ran on the Polyp were testing for cancer and stuff like that. I guess the test also shows ovulation. I am glad I know for sure I am Oing it's just weird that my temps didn't reflect it. Yes I had a pelvic today.

Charting is A LOT of fun.... if you go to www.fertilityfriend.com they have a free email course that tells you everything you need to know. It's pretty simple though. Just get a Basal Body thermometer, they sell them at Rite-Aid and Target for under $15. And start taking your temp before you get out of bed in the morning after at least 3-5 hours of sleep (I can't remember exactly how many hours it is). I set my alarm for 7am and test then. The trick is to pick a time when you know you will be in a sound sleep. Once you start tossing and turning you temp will start going up. I temp and then go back to sleep. Your temp will go down and then shoot up and stay up above all your previous temps. That's pretty much how you know you have Oed.

If you want to attempt charting we will all help you out Dee started and got PG on her second charting cycle I haven't been so lucky But I still enjoy it.

There are also Ovulation Predictor Kits that can give you an idea of when you O. They are fun too!

If you have a 28 day cycle... you should O around cycle day 13-15. Cycle day 1 is the first day of AF.

Hope it helps

Bobbie

Thanks bobbie!!! That is very helpful. I'm going to look into charting. I'm sure I'll have a lot more questions for all of you.

I was given Yaz at my follow up on Sat. I'm deciding whether or not to go on that for a few months and then start trying or just say the heck with it and start TTC right now. I always have regular cycles, so hopefully that will help me chart more easily. My Grandma told me she used to chart b/c her doctor was catholic and wouldn't give her bc, she said it never worked and he told her that she probably ovulated twice a month. Is that possible??

Thanks for all your help!!! Keep me updated on your tests.

Makes you wonder why we chart, huh?!?! I guess it just proves there isn't really anything we can do to know EXACTLY when we ovulate!! DARN.

I think the lesson I learned is to keep BDing after O. We usually take a couple days off when I know I most likely Oed.

Erika... if it were me.... I personally would skip the BC. If your DR left it up to you... I say forget it. Use condoms if you don't want to get PG for a couple cycles. We all would love to help you chart. It gives us something to do while we are waiting to O...waiting to test.... waiting for AF to leave..... Yeah lots of waiting going on.
