Today I received a necklace that I had special ordered for Aspen! I was so excited all last week waiting for it. It finally arrived today. I have a baby shoe that I received on Mother's day after Naden was born and it has his birthstone and his name and birthdate engraved on the back. After my miscarriage I told Travis that I was thinking of getting another baby shoe pendant but he suggested I get something like a star. I thought it was a perfect idea but I could not find a star that had a green birthstone (emerald) and could be engraved and was small enough not to dwarf Naden's shoe. I searched for weeks and finally it hit me to see what Etsy had for sale. The only thing with this star is I only had the option of a peridot not an emerald but I was okay with the light green rather than dark green. I think the stone is a bit more yellow than I was expecting but it still is great. It also has Aspen's name stamped in the metal on the back. So now I am debating... should I put the two pendants together with a spacer on the white gold (shiny) necklace or should I leave them separate like they are. What do you think I should do?

The metals are different but they are still cute together. Now I can keep both my babies close to my heart!

I think they look great as they are but would look good on the same necklace with a spacer too. I personally would go with one necklace if it were me... but I like things simple .... LOL

I love them both!

Thanks Tosha and Bobbie. I was really excited when it finally arrived.

So, my original intention was to put it on the necklace with Naden's baby shoe and then when I have another baby to order another baby shoe and leave the star in between the two. I think I will go to Hobby Lobby to look at spacers this week and see how they look together. I do like them separtate too but noticed today that they sometimes got tangled which was a little annoying.

I am just so happy I have Aspen's star. I wanted a way to memorialize my little one and to be able to keep him close by. I mean, I know I can do that without a necklace but now ever time I am wearing it and look at myself in the mirror or feel it during the day I can remember both my babies. It sort of makes me feel like he is always near by with us. That is a good thing.

I totally understand what you are saying I have a pregnancy loss bracelet I bought while I was m/c. It is very relaxing to just sit and spin the beads.

Danica,
That is sooooo cool! I love the idea! I also would use a spacer and when I read that you would put them in between the other shoes when you have another little one it warmed my heart! Kind of like they will be protecting Aspen! Love it!

Both necklaces are beautiful! How creative. I think if it were me, I'd put them on one necklace to avoid tangling, but either way, its such a sweet idea and they look great.

I love it!!!!

I like the idea of the two separate for now, until you have another baby, and then connect them all on one chain. It's almost like you have one Earth Angel and one Angel in Heaven with them being on different chains. Does that make sense?

I vote for you to keep them separate until you add another lil shoe!

Beautiful, I kind of like how they look on two separate chains.
