I just love my *hubby*....

He is outside in the sleet working on a co-worker of mine's car. She is a single mom just trying to get by. Her brakes were bad and the shop wanted $400 to do them. Dave said he would do them for her for free... she just had to buy the parts. He thought it would be a half hour job. We don't have a garage that a car can fit in. (It's full of junk!)

So he is out in the freezing cold working on a car for a friend. He started working on it last Sunday but ran into problems... and then ran out of daylight. I don't know much about brakes... but the shop told her she just needed pads. Turned out she needed calipers and rotors too. So what does he do? He buys the rotors for her and just tells her she just needed calipers. Granted the rotors were like $20-$30 not anything that will break the bank... but he knew the extra $90 for the calipers was money she really didn't have and plan on spending on her car.

Sometimes he is sooo giving it just makes me fall more in love with him... KWIM?

Awe!!! That is so cute. It sounds like something my hubby would do. Lately ive been in between getting annoyed at him and thinking he's a sweetheart. He works for his dad who owns his own business doing carpentry and chimney sweeping. So of course fall is like their busiest season. So he has been working like 60-70 hours a week. Then any time he has free he has been going over and helping my brother get firewood for my dad. My dads in his fifties so its hard for him to get all the wood they need for winter by himself. I also have another brother but he doesn't seem to want to help them. So without being asked he is using the time he isn't working and motivating my brother and helping my dad out. So lately ive been kinda jealous he isn't spending every available second with me but..... im working on trying not to be lol. Sounds like we both found keepers.

Bobbie,

That is one good guy you have there...a definate keeper!! Thank goodness she didn't get "taken for a ride" by that shop....and IMO....400 just for brake pads seems waaaay steep!

and I keep telling you Dave & Mick have to be related...lol...Mick is the town mechanic & mr. fix it....and gives the money back to the people.....*sometimes I wish he wouldn't for some jobs...lol* but hey, they are good guys with BIG HEARTS !!!!!
