Well, today was genetic & diabetic education. My 1st appt was at 9:30. I got there at about 9:15, and the didnt take me to outpatient registration until 9:45 !!
So, I was told I missed my diabetic counseling and had to go to genetic counseling at 10:30, then wait until 12:30 for diabetic counseling !!! So in between I had to run and get something to eat in the cafeteria because I started to get the shakes from my blood suagr dropping!
GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR........
to make a VERY long story short.....I got freaked out when I was told about the percentage of risks my baby will have because of my age....but i am trying not to dwell on that. They are switching my insulin, not a big deal...so thats good....
Have my NT Scan on Friday...and they have me down as 12 wks 3 days ...they are not going by my last US ,but by last period...so who knows where I am!

Sorry they made you wait so long. What insulin are they putting you on? What were you on before? I know how scary all of those "risks" sound when they tell you that. They have to cover their own butts though, that way you are aware of what could happen..but I focused on a perfectly healthy baby, and she was, but my blood clotted and stopped her from growing. So you hang in there girl and think of that perfect little one growing inside of you. The u/s will help put your mind at ease too.

Anyhow, glad your appt. is over with and like the other girls said, don't listen to them about the risks. They just have to say that.

I was taking Humlin N & R ....now they are putting me on Novolog??? with the rapid acting one...so now I am going from 2 shots to 3 a day...
N&R in the am, R before dinner, then more N @ bedtime....I thought I was doing fine, but you know they always want to "try" something different...grrrr ! LOL

Sorry I missed this, I hope your day turned around and you are feeling better. Also I guess I don't understand why they go into that much detail after your pregnant. It's not like you would say, okay since there are so many "possible" problems I don't want my baby anymore... I mean, they can say, "you shoould take this or that or do this or that without making you think you'll have a three headed baby. IMO.

Everything will be right and perfect. Hugs.

I am so sorry it was such a long day and that they scared you! but I know so many women with those risks who have had healthy babies and I just know your baby is going to be a strong healthy baby!!!!
