PG symptoms disappeared around Tuesday. Started with some brown discharge on Thursday, then a little pink and red. Only when I wiped; nothing made it to a pad.

Then the back pain started, would come and go. Then more red when I wiped.

On Friday I went to the dr. Ultrasound showed NOTHING. At 7 weeks 1 day, there should be something.

Blood hcg levels at 629..dr says that puts me at 5 weeks. I could just be off on my dates he says. No chance I'm off by two weeks. I'm like Bobbie-I start testing really really early!!

Middle of the night, I had a pain in left side of tummy that woke me up.

Still not bleeding and not really passing much (just stringy stuff) today. No real back pain to speak of either.

With my first m/c in October, I started bleeding, then the back pain came and stayed and everything was expelled within 2 days.

This one isn't like that. Pain and everything comes and goes. I feel ill, like I have a fever and my neck and head continuously hurt. This has been going on for over a week.

Dr. doesn't think it's ectopic. I'm not so sure. I mean it's got to be somewhere and it isn't where it's supposed to be.

It's bad enough to m/c a second time in a row, but for it to be abnormal is taking it's toll. I have to go for another blood draw on Monday and Tuesday to the dr for the results. He even said he may not know anything then either, depending on what the HCG number comes out to. Which just leaves my mind to wander and stress out about ruptured things and infection and internal bleeding that could all be happening right now.

My question is has anyone had a similar situation-nothing showing on u/s but nothing coming out either? And if so, what happened?

Thanks for any help!

Tammi

hey, im really sorry to hear about whats happening!!

i never had a scan with either of my m/c's as they were earlier, but i did have pains in my right hand side the day before the bleeding started really bad! dr also ruled out ectopic, but lukily things happened quickly for me!!

from what you've said, that your not bleeding heavy, it sounds as if you've not passed anything yet! and with the ultrasound showing nothing is a little strange which maybe would make me think twice (like you are!) i am so expert when it comes to scans etc, but id probably be asking more Q's, like why is the scan showing nothing and ive not bleed heavily! try a second opinion i think they at least owe you that!!

take care of yourself and put your feet up! i know its soo hard to get through the hard days, especically when you dont expect it to happen a 2nd time!!

I'm so sorry. Mine was totally opposite. Still had all pregnancy symptoms, had a small amount of brown discharge that felt like a quick woosh and then nothing at all. Went to the E.R. because I just had a bad feeling. And they couldn't find the heartbeat again. Try not to worry. I don't think it's ectopic. Your symptoms would be more severe I believe. I'm an O.R. nurse and we do emergency ectopic's a lot and the women always have severe abdominal pain. Hopefully everything will be fine. Sorry I'm not more help. Good luck.

Thanks girls. The dr. seemed confused too, so that doesn't help me feel better. If I didn't have a positive urine test on file and hcg of 629, you'd think I wasn't even pregnant!

He said it could be one of three things: that I'm only 5 weeks along and got my dates wrong; m/c and maybe he just didn't do a good enough u/s; or ectopic.
For the first, that would mean I had pg symptoms before I was even pg-not likely. I tested at 7dpo and got neg. Even at 11dpo I got neg on a FRER. It wasn't til 12 dpo that I got a faint + on a frer. So it's impossible that I'm 2 weeks off.
2nd one-he was moving that wand everywhere! It was a whole lot more thorough and longer than the one I had with the first m/c.

I read through a ton of m/c posts on JM and didn't find anything like my situation. So now I feel like a failure and a freak! UGH!!

Em-I looked into blighted ovum, too. I think that's the one where the u/s shows an empty sac. Nothing develops inside. I didn't even have that!

The dr. said he didn't see much of anything. It's like my pregnacy disappeared. It's so bizarre.

I just really hope that I get answers on Tuesday or start bleeding and passing clots (again bizarre having to wish for such things!) or I will be a total basket case.

I don't want to leave without answers on Tuesday. If dr. says he still doesn't know, what should I demand to have done to me, other than a second u/s which he said he would do already?

after 3 ectopics, I can tell you only the last one did I have any abdominal pain (that was the ruptured uterus, but I thought I was just constipated). I did have the stringy-type spotting for the 1st two, where baby was in the tubes. Oddly enough with the ruptured uterus I didn't have any spotting until AFTER the surgery. The the only reason I went to the ER is because my RE thought I might have a blood clot in my shoulder since I had shoulder pain, which I did not have for the 1st two.

If they can't find baby in your uterus they should be looking for free flowing blood in your abdomen via ultrasound - and the transvaginal ones are MUCH more sensitive. With this last one I lost 50% of my blood volume into my abdomen and they DIDN'T see it on the regular ultrasound! the finally saw the problem during the 2nd u/s (trans vag).

Definitely have another u/s done. If you are still having pain and bleeding and your HCG's are not really doing anything, they may suggest laparoscopic surgery "just to take a peek". If you haven't had that type of surgery before it really is a piece of cake. the pain from the bloating is the worst part if they don't get all the Co2 back out.

I am so sorry this is happening to you!!! Good luck!!!!

I'm sorry if what I said upset you...I'm was just explaining what I see when I'm called in. I'm know it's not true 100% of the time. But more often than not the women have high fever's and are in severe pain. I'm really sorry again.

I am soooo sorry this is happening. GRRRR

Why can't life ever be easy?

I wish I had words of wisdom...but I have never gone through what you are.

I hope by some miracle dates are off.... stranger things have happened. If they aren't and you are m/c you know we are all here for you. If you need anything, just say so.

The same thing happened with me hun with my first miscarriage! So you are definitely not a failure or anything of the sorts. I had a little spotting which turned into some more bleeding by the time I got to the doctors. He did an ultrasound and seen the sac there but nothing in it. I was 6 weeks and like 3 days I think. So he said it could be fine, it looked like it was in a good place and my cervix was closed. So he sent me for some levels that day and two days later. By then I had stopped bleeding pretty much completely. Just slight spotting. Well my levels came back at like 99 and 99. So he had me go back again for levels and then to the hospital for an ultrasound. By then I should have been 7 weeks and the sac was still empty and I found out my levels were dropping. So it confirmed a miscarriage. I never had any bleeding after that. So I opted for a D&C rather than wait for my body to decide to miscarriage on it's own, because it had been already 5 days with no spotting or bleeding.

I'm so sorry! I hope you get your answers on Tuesday and hopefully you are just 2 weeks off! I'll be praying for you!

Don't worry, you didn't upset me! Bobbie is right, I just wanted to share what my 3 experiences were, and how different each was - and how different they can be from what's considered "textbook".

I am so sorry you are going throught something like this. I know how difficult it has to be, not being able to be 100% confident in your doctors. I really hope you find some answers very soon! Please let us know how Tuesday goes.

I'm so sorry you're going through this! I hate to say this, but I think you should have another u/s. I can't remember when you said they're checking your HCG again? I was told on 11/30 that I had a m/c because there was just a little fluid inmy uterus. The next day I had some pains come and go in the morning (in my side and nothing unbearable). I had an HCG and 2 u/s that day, and then they told me I had a lot of internal bleeding, and an ectopic pregnancy. The doctor told me he was suprised I wasn't curled up in a ball by the u/s results. I'm not telling you this to scare you, but I do want you to know there are many women who don't have the "normal" symptoms. Actually several of us in the ectopic survivors group didn't really have pain. I really hope that they can get you the information you need. I'll keep you in my T&PS. Good luck with everything!

Thank you everyone for your t&p's. I'm hanging in there. I'm taking Monday and Tuesday off (yeah, like a 3 week winter break wasn't enough for me ). I get blood drawn tomorrow and then to the doctor first thing Tuesday morning for the results and another U/S. My neck and shoulders and head have been hurting (like a 5 on a scale of 1-10, not unbearable, just really uncomfortable). Still not much going on down there. Out of the blue, I got the runs yesterday and continues today (sorry TMI, but I think it's indicative that all ain't right inside me). My belly is bloated and I feel lousy all over..like the onset of the flu, but without all of the flu symptoms.

MamaTutu-not to worry..I scare myself more than anyone (I think it's going to turn out exactly how it went for you).

Thank you again everyone. I'll update as soon as I know.
