We are back in the hospital. He was readmitted on Thursday for a 5-day round of chemo. They have located a perfect 6/6 match from the world bank for the bone marrow transplant. Right now the plan looks like this: finish this chemo on Monday, wait for his counts/body to recover (approx 3-4 weeks) and then do the transplant in mid-to late-February. His spirits remain good. He spends most of his time watching movies, Nickelodeon shows and playing video games. We are mostly confined to his room because the doctors don't want him picking up an infection from another patient or visitor. He is allowed out in the evenings for brief periods of time and we walk in the halls until he gets too tired.

As for me, I'm (fill in the expletive) miserable. I did finally get some ambien to help me sleep, but even with that it is so difficult to get rest in this place. I am going to run home on Tuesday (about 2 hours away) for bloodwork and to see my ob. I'm hoping that my betas are getting close to 0. I had my last draw nearly 2 weeks ago and it was 1016.

I called an RE for a consult since this was my 5th loss, 2nd in a row. I have an appt here in Columbus on the 22nd. I'm surprised at how quickly I got in and that I didn't need a physician referral. Maybe the receptionist sensed the desperation in my voice. I don't exactly know when I will actively ttc again. It feels wrong to do it while Cameron is sick/in the hospital, not that I'd have time, but on the other hand I've waited years for him to be well.

That's it for now. Hope the new year is better for all of us.

Lori...

Thanks for the update. Sounds like things are going well. That is great about the match!

I hope you can find a way to relax... I know it must be near impossible to do.

Wow your levels were high! How far along did they say you were with this m/c. For some reason I thought you only had about a week between the BFP and the bleeding? That is great that they can get in you there. I hope things fall into place for you. I hope your son gets well very quick after the transplant and you get your BFP as soon as he is doing better.

Lots of hugs... and thoughts and prayers for your entire family.

Hope your levels are down on Tuesday when you go in! And I am so glad you are getting in to see the RE, hopefully they will have some answers for you!

Congrats on getting the 6/6 match for Cameron. Hope this round of chemo and then the transplant go well. I am glad he is keeping his spirits up and hope he feels better soon!

PS--Hey to a fellow Ohio-an!! I read Columbus in your post and then had to look to see where you are from. I've never heard of Guysville, but I am near Dayton

I am so glad they found a perfect match for Cameron. I am constantly thinking about him. He sounds like a tough young man.

I hope your numbers are at 0 the next time they check and as soon as you decided to TTC again that you get a quick and sticky BFP!
