I tired WW like maybe 2-3 years ago, and did the points version of it. I stuck with it for a month and totally fell off the wagon! I was even given the book thingie by a friend, and lost that. I don't think WW is for me.

I have been trying and also struggling. I am trying to do the points version, but my first meal of the day I feel like I use 1/3 of my points and then feel guilty the rest of the day. I think I just might do the CORE plan...
Good Luck

never done weight watchers, but I need to do something. I think I need to cut out the sugar. I don't have issues with carbs. Just sweets... and chocolate..... and hot chocolate....and truffles...

Wanted to add -- a former friend of mine tried the CORE version of WW, she's actually the one who gave me the book, and she lost 30lbs and kept it off. I've also heard through the grape vine that she's lost even more weight. I think the CORE version would work a lot better than the POINTS. Simply because you can eat as much as you want, as long as it's in the book!

I did WW a couple years ago. I did the points which was best for me. If I remember correctly core restricts what food items you can eat. I was able to loose a lot of weight very quickly.
Unfortunately I have gained it all back in the last year. I really need to get back into it.
The first few weeks were the toughest because you do feel hungry. After those initial weeks it got much easier. I aways kept veggies cut up in the fridge to nibble on when I was hungry.
GOOD LUCK!!!
Maybe being pregnant you should just add a few additional points to your regiment to compensate for the little bean.

I did WW after high school and lost 15-20lbs(I can't remember exactly ). Then after I had DD last Feb, I decided to start again but just using the knowledge I have (because I can't afford it*). And I've lost about 60lbs since I had her. My parents are both doing it too, and they've both lost 30-40lbs each! I think it really helps to have a support system. That's why it helps to have the classes, or a friend also doing it. I just wanted to say good luck, and I've had a couple friends do it while pg.
*In reality it isn't more expensive then eating out a few times a week. But we hardly eat out so...
ETA: I do points though not as strictly as I could/did in the beginging. My parents do Core.

I did the points thing after my youngest dd was born. I stuck with it and was obsessed with it, and I lost 35 lbs in 5 months. It worked awesome and I kept it off for a while....but then I went on the pill, which made me gain, and then got pg and totally stopped counting points and I've gained 15 of it back all together. I was going to try and do it again after the m/c, but couldn't really get into it. It really works if you can stick to it, but you will be hungry. I'm going to start doing it again after my next baby is born.

I did WW online a couple of years ago after my 2nd son. I lost 30 lbs! on the points version. I was working out like a mad woman too. I like it and would do it again. I was breastfeeding then and there is a special program ( I think adding a couple of extra points--can't remember) for nursing/pregnant women

Yes you do get more points. I think because I am nursing I get 10-13 more points( I need to double check again )

I have seen success with WW but personally I would never do it myself. The main reason being, you really need to add up what you are eating. There are no nutritional values for any WW foods (unless pre packaged), even the magazine and cookbooks don't have any nurtrional values and I feel that is very important for food tracking.
I have lost just over 50 pounds since April of 07 and 35 of those are from Oct 12, 2007. My biggest change was realizing that I have to do this as a change for life. I keep a diary of my foods and weigh and measure everything. That keeps you up to date on your calories and nutrient intake daily. I work out just about every day but one and have added strength training. I follow the GI plan which really makes you look at your plate.....it tells you half your plate should be veggies, one quarter your starch, and the other your protein. I have found it so easy in eating and never feel hungry and am usually satisfied. I did eliminate sweets completely from my diet for 8 weeks and gradually re introduced them and have found I don't crave them anymore. I use splenda for any baking and for pasta, I always make it wholeweat. I always make a plan for eating out or holidays and didn't gain any weight this Christmas and still had my splenda cookies, some were peanut butter.
I know you probably already know but just in case......If you diet by cutting calories to lose weight, reach your goal and up your calories becasue you reached your goal, you will gain it back. That's why the pros suggest just losing no more than 2 pounds per week. If you are obese, you will naturally lose more and that is fine. Also, be aware of your sugars that are hidden in the carbs. If you have a food item with say 20 carbs and 19 of them are from sugar, stay away from the bad carbs like that. If you have that same 20 and only 2 are from sugar then that is pretty good. When it comes to your body and sugars and carbs, sugar goes straigth to your blood stream and instead of you easily burning it off, your body will try and hang onto it and store it as fat. Whereas if it's low in sugar, it will take longer to burn through your body, will be less likely to be held back as fat and you will feel fuller for a longer time.
Take not of all the labels and see what the serving is...just because it says low fat, fat free, or low carb doesn't mean it's better. I stay away from WW foods for that very reason.
Back to WW, I think they have had a lot of success and teach how to eat but only by counting points. We have another program over hear that is similar called Slimming World and they count by Syns. To me, I would rather know all the nutrient values I'm putting into my mouth, that's how you learn what to eat.
Sparkpeople.com is a free website with a free meal planner, but takes forever to change foods if you need.
EDiets is a great meal planner but costs too much money for me, but if you're willing to spend for WW, this is much better and there are many plans to cater to each individual. Our Tesco offers it at about £2.95 a week and they do deliver your foods to you.
To me, that is money you could put towards gym equipment or joining a gym and get way better results. Most insurance plans over there offer discounts so certainly worth a check. Depending on your weight, toning along with cardio will help with sagging skin instead of toning when you get closer to your goal. Remember that muscle weighs more than fat and muscle will burn more calories. If you are in the UK, ask your doctor about the gp referral scheme. I'm on that at the moment and even though the times are limited, there are evening times and after 3 months you can join the gym at nearly half the price. So that is my plan to join and be able to go when the day care is open.
Since I started losing weight, my cycles average about 32 days now, before, they were closer to 50 so this has had a huge impact on me and hopefully will up our chances of getting pregnant again. I actually plan on going back to school in the fall to become a dietician. I have had such an easy time with this and only wish I did it sooner. It's had an impact on my family and friends and now they are watching what they are eating so it's been a great feeling and all I want to do is help others with what I have learned and with support. If I can do it, anyone can do it. You just can't be pushed into it.
Sorry for the novel, I'm just very passionate about health now.
