I called my doctor this morning and talked to his nurse to ask if it was normal to be on CD40 and still no period after my D&C. She talked to him and called me back and said that I should have had a cycle by now and he wants me to start taking prometrium. So I'm going to pick up my scrip this afternoon. I hate to take something, but am so sick of waiting it out when I feel like AF is no where in sight, so I am actually relieved that maybe this will kickstart my cycle again!

Anyone else ever had to take this and if so, what was your experience? Thanks so much!

I am suppose to take it after I get my BFP to hopefully make the bean stick (if I ever get a BFP), but I have heard that it can also be used to kick start your cycle. Good luck and I hope A/F visits you soon!

From what I am reading, it works like provera, but is a gentler form. I just picked it up and it says on the list of side effects DO NOT TAKE IF YOU ARE PREGNANT.. I don't understand that? Since some women take it when they are pregnant? I just thought that was odd.

I took prometrium (synthetic progesterone) vaginal suppositories when pg. The only issue is because it is progesterone, you get pg symptoms (sore bbs, fatigue, breakouts, moodiness). Hopefully you wont need to be on it long.

Amber, I was actually going to post tonight to see how you were doing if there was no update. Glad to see you, but sorry the witch hasn't shown up yet Anyways, my SIL has taken that to kick start her period and it worked for her.

My only question for you is this...have you tested? I know you said that you weren't really protecting after your m/c. I'm sure that is a stupid question, but I just had to ask...

Anyways, good luck and I hope AF arrives soon! KUP

Thanks everyone. I did test this morning and got a negative before I took the first pill, just to make sure. I also had a full fledged emotional breakdown last night.. and this morning I woke up feeling very bloated, so I am hoping she is right around the corner. Bloating is a major sign for me before AF comes.

I am so tired of this waiting game. I hope it works and soon!
