Hi!
I was just wondering who out there is a SAHM and who is working out of the home? If you are not a SAHM then what do you do?

I am NOT a SAHM though I hope to be in about a year. I work as a counselor at a school.

As most of you already know I work retail. BLAH... I have been at the same place for almost 17 years. I still like going to work though...so I guess it's okay. I can't wait to get PG and be a SAHM. Well... I will probably work part time, but it will feel like nothing!

I am a WAHM. I went from full time to part time after Naden was born. I "work" 3 hours a day / 5 days a week as a project manager but my customers are nationwide so I just work out of the house. As long as I have internet and phone I can do my job from anywhere. I also run my two home businesses out of my house. Oh yeah, and raise my little guy. He takes most of the time up

I am not a SAHM, mostly because I'm not a Mom yet. I hope to be a Mom this year, can't see me being a SAHM unless we hit the lottery. I do project work and most of the time have some flexibility to work from home occasionally. My firm does have 100% home based positions, but I'd probably have to take a pay cut. I don't think I would want to be 100% SAHM, I would probably go a little batty

But, I hear that your whole world changes once you get that bundle of joy in your arms.

I quit working when I was 8 weeks pg with my first son and have been a SAHM since then. I love it. Now that my boys are in pre-school part-time I go to a women's Bible study, am in several organizations, I work out in the mornings and I also volunteer with several groups. So when people who know my kids go to school now ask me "What do you do all day?? I have to laugh cause I stay very busy.

I guess I am kinda a WAHM. I work full-time as a accountant at home. It keeps me so busy that I still have to send my DD (4) to full-time daycare. The upside is that if she or my DS (8) are sick and have to stay home I can still work, just not at 100%. Also when she starts kindergarten next year she can stay home with me in the afternoons. Its great not to have to commute to work.
I could not be a SAHM, I feel I am a better mom because I work. I think everyone is different and those that can handle being a SAHM are stronger then me.
