I have been reading some stories about ladies getting pregnant just after a miscarriage even before getting their 1st AF.

I dont know but I dont feel comfortable about this. Even if I told DH to do it, he just wouldnt accept the idea.. he is overprotective and gets worried about me..

I think that right after first AF is the best... isnt it? You clean even more your body and let things just get out and then prepare yourself to try again.

Does anyone have any opinion about this? How do u feel about waiting for 1st AF? or u want to risk and try ASAP?

This is completely in my own opinion --

One of the main reasons women try to get pregnant so quickly after a m/c is because they WANT to. Doctor's might tell you to wait, they might not. Waiting could be a personal choice. Some doctor's believe that if you want a cycle or a few cycles, that you're building up the lining in your uterus after a m/c. Which in turn, could keep you pregnant the next time you are.

Waiting until 1 AF has passed is completely personal preference. Sometimes that AF simply takes too long, and who REALLY wants to wait for it? Of course, then there's the possibility that you might not even O the first cycle post a m/c.

I believe if you're ready to be pregnant again, what's the difference in waiting 2 weeks or 2 months?

I hope I didn't/don't step on anyone's toes by posting this. It's strictly my own opinion.

Thanks for posting!!

The thing that makes me scared about trying so soon is that my doc told me that i will need to take baby aspirin pills the month we start trying to conceive. I am scared that I fall pregnant now and something bad might happen again.. I have had 2 miscarriages now. I am sure doc will tell us to try again just after fist af but I really wish I can fall pregnant now. Today and yesterday saw some EWCM and I was like "I might be fertile" but then I felt scared about trying for real.

I am just a coward. Maybe its meant for me to wait for fist AF.. if I do fall pregnant now before first AF i might have a very tired conscious .

Someone else on JM found some research that said there was a 5% risk increase of miscarriage if you get pregnant before your first AF. Then there was a 2% risk increase if you got pregnant after 1 AF but before 2 AFs.

Then I believe there was no increased risk after you had 2 AFs.

That being said, I had not heard these stats after my miscarriage. My doctor advised me to wait until I had one AF before we started trying and that is what we did. That's probably what I would do again.

Even though it was really (really, really!) hard, we decided to wait until after my 1st AF. I even asked my doctor at my appt if it was okay to go ahead and try, but he really said it was best to wait.

The 2 reasons he gave were 1) to be able to accurately date the pregnancy (not really an issue for me since I know when I O) and 2) to let the endometrial tissue fully heal, especially since I had a D&C. I decided to wait, solely for reason #2. For me, I would like to make sure that when I do get pregnant again, I don't start out with any "strikes" against me

That being said, I know some women on here whose doctors said that they didn't have to wait at all. So...If my doctor had said that, I probably wouldn't have waited All in all, I think it is totally a personal decision.

My Dr said to wait for 2 AFs. I don't know what that is based on though. Like I just posted elsewhere I have read many stories on here of people getting pg again before their first AF and going on to have healthy babies.
