My DH is a truck driver. This morning there was terrible fog combined with smoke from a controlled fire they'd set. A huge predawn pileup on the interstate happened right after DH passed that spot. Over 50 cars with 20 semis. One of the guys who works with him was in the crash. They couldn't even land any rescue helicopters because the visibility was so bad. The rescue workers had to park and run into the wreckage with flashlights trying to see if people were alive or not. Ugh. It's awful.

The news coverage is heartbreaking. I live in Orlando, so we have been seeing coverage all day. I'm so glad you DH was not involved. I have several coworkers that travel that part of the interstate every day to work. Luckily none of them were involved either.

The news here just showed the story of the accident. I can't believe more people weren't hurt or killed!

The fog and smoke mixed looked so deadly!!! So sad to hear 3 people died in the accident!

Thank GOD your DH wasn't hurt!!!

I just talked to DH and silly man volunteered to help some of the other drivers deliver their loads. ARGH!!! I think it's really sweet of him but he has to be up at 2:30 in the morning to go to work every day and here it is, 7pm and he's still in Orlando working! (We live in Tampa and he drives a route from here to there every day). At this rate, I don't see how he's going to get *any* sleep tonight and tomorrow is predicted to have more of this crazy fog. It just makes me really worry about him, is all.

The accident is so sad! Thank goodness your husband is safe! It is sweet of him to volunteer to help, but I can imagine how worried you must be...I'm sure he will be alright though
