O/T - update on my uncle and the bus accident

So my uncle is finally back in Phoenix. I think I mentioned before that the town the bus rolled over in was so tiny there wasn't even a clinic so he wasn't even in a hospital but rather a hotel. Anyway, he finally made it back home yesterday and is now in the hospital. Turns out he is a bit worse off than I originally heard. He has a broken front and back scapula, fractured vertebrae, nose broken in 3 places, clavical is broken on both sides of the sternum. The right side of his clavical broke off a piece by his artery so he'll probably go into surgery today. I think he should heal with time okay but it is so scary. The media has been hounding them so his company had to turn off their cell phones. I wish I could talk with him but I am sure he is busy trying to get better.

So awful! I saw this on the news the other night, there was NOTHING left of that bus, so scary. I hope that your uncle heals up quickly, I'll be praying for him.

Yes, unfortunately he was on the bus that rolled in Utah (leaving CO going to PHX). I am so happy he is relatively okay but he has friends that died and the last I checked the count was up to 9 people. What breaks my heart the most is that 2 were high school kids from Deer Valley. It is just so unfortunate and I personally believe it was driver negligence.

Thanks for the update Danica. I am sorry to hear that your uncle is actually worse than they originally thought, but I am glad they found everything so that they can fix him up. Hope he is feeling better soon and I also hope you get to talk to him before too long!

Wow, Danica!! I just watch a report on that last night as they airlifted quit a few of the passengers to St. Mary's Hospital here in Grand Junction. I saw the images of the bus and to me it is miraculous that anyone survived. My heart and prayers go out to the family members of all the passengers, including you, and especially to those who lost loved ones.

My thoughts and prayers are with you,
