I can't believe I didn't ask my Dr this.

At my 2 week post appointment she said this to me "What kind of contraceptive are you going to use?" I sort of felt somewhat offended by this question as though she was telling me I shouldn't get pregnant.

However, I am sure that was more my emotions reading into this.

But I didn't ask her how long I am supposed to wait.

I found out my twins lost their heart beats on January 3. I had my D&C January 8.

Thanks ladies.

I am so sorry for your losses!

I've heard different things as far as waiting. The doc that did my d&c said to wait 2-3 cycles (mainly for emotional healing and dating purposes). And my regular doc said we could ttc after I had one AF. We chose to wait 3 cycles, and I'm currently in the tww of our 1st cycle actively ttc *fingers crossed*
I think as long as you wait until after you've had one af, anytime is fine. It's really just when you feel like you're ready

My doctor didn't tell us anything except to wait a week to have sex after my D&C. At my 4 week check up after surgery, he asked me "are you using any contraceptives?".. I told him no, and he said "ok, then I expect you to be pregnant in the next 2-4 months, see you then".. so he wasn't concerned at all about us waiting to TTC. He even told me to come back in 2 months if I wasn't pregnant, and we would explore other options. He is probably more liberal than most, but that is what I like about him.

I say when you feel like your body is healed and you are ready, go for it.

My doctor said to wait 1 cycle until TTC again after my D&C. His main reason was allow the tissue to fully heal and for dating purposes.

g/l when you start TTC!!
