this morning I started the laundry only to find that my tiny load of whites was still damp and not at all warm when the dryer stopped. hmmm . . . so I gave it another shot. sent it thru another cycle. now dry, but not warm at all. ok, so if it takes 2 dryer cycles on high to dry a very small load of cotton whites, there's something wrong.

oh well. we had this dryer for 12 years and DH says it is at least 23 years old, he remembers having it when he was around 12 yrs old (it was his parents "spare" dryer so it's not like we paid for it

). fitting, I suppose, since the matching washer (that was up at the family cabin) finally died this summer! Our plan was to purchase a new washer & dryer anyway when we had a baby so I guess we're now 1/2 way there.
