this morning I started the laundry only to find that my tiny load of whites was still damp and not at all warm when the dryer stopped. hmmm . . . so I gave it another shot. sent it thru another cycle. now dry, but not warm at all. ok, so if it takes 2 dryer cycles on high to dry a very small load of cotton whites, there's something wrong. oh well. we had this dryer for 12 years and DH says it is at least 23 years old, he remembers having it when he was around 12 yrs old (it was his parents "spare" dryer so it's not like we paid for it ). fitting, I suppose, since the matching washer (that was up at the family cabin) finally died this summer! Our plan was to purchase a new washer & dryer anyway when we had a baby so I guess we're now 1/2 way there.

so here's my new toy:

holy crap this thing is HUGE inside! I could literally crawl into it.

I SO want one!!! With as much as I spend on laundry at the laundromat it would pay for itself in less than a year!

Congrats on the new dryer!!! Did you already have a new washer to go with this?

Have fun doing your laundry When you are done, I have some that needs done too (I despise doing laundry...)

I love new toys. And yours is great to play with because you'll want to keep using it so you end up with a huge pile of CLEAN clothes.

no new washer yet. we actually had the original matching one to the dryer and something on it broke so my dad, thinking it would be too expensive for us to fix (this was just before our wedding) just showed up the next day with a newly-refurbished Maytag that was I think about 10yrs old at the time, said happy wedding present! Turns out the old washer was only $35 to fix but we kept the "new" one instead and the old one went back to DH's parents to store (and then it ended up at the cabin for years). The repair man has been over twice for leaky hoses and keeps telling us it's going to die soon, that the motor is worn out but it just keeps on going . . .

I've got my eye on one of those super capacity water saving ones someday . . .

Tosha, I promise I won't crawl inside!
