Okay..

so i am sure MOST of you have heard of the needle and string thing that you can do to see how many kidss youll have..and what their genders will be..

(hold a needle thats tied to 6 inches of string above your palm and it will circle and go back forth etc..)

MY need says

Girl -RIGHT so far
Boy- ?
Girl-?

Ive heard some people say that it DOES include miscarriages...which would mean that i lost a boy...i felt that it was a boy too.. and that my next one will be a girl.. which totally isnt what i was hoping for...i really want a boy...(but a girl is great too, duh)

and then ive heard others say that it does NOT include them... which would mean my next one will be a boy.. and i can just know in my heart that baby E was a boy as well..

What do you guys think? included or not?

Kinda stemming from that subject when i was preggo with baby E we were going to ahve a surprise baby... but now next time i get pregnant i am most definately going to find out what it is... because then if its a girl it will sorta confirm for me that baby E was indeed that middle Boy ... and if its a boy it will confirm that i will get 3 kids like i wanted! SO

~Em

LOL, that was completely wrong for my mother. It said she had 9, but she's got 7 living, and had 3 miscarriages and a 21wk stillbirth. So...I don't believe it.

Just kidding I wouldn't bet the farm on it's predictions anyway

It's fun to do though. I feel the urge to try it now

I'm interested in trying that now!!! The string has to be 6 inches long??? And held how far off your palm???
What does it mean if it's going back and forth/in a circle?

I don't think this test has any sort of truth or false base to it, I think it's for fun!

after I saw this post I got curious so I googled about it. interestingly enough some tests involve the needle/string, some say poke the threaded needle into the eraser of a pencil and dangle the whole thing, and some say use a wedding ring and string. I didn't get into how many babies, just for currently pg women. Girls are side to side or a circular motion and boys are up and down. Can use belly, palm, or wrist. So for fun I took off my wedding ring and used white thread and held it over my belly.

now long ago someone gave me a "string of intention" or something like that, it's just a string with something metal on the end of it (mine was a washer) and you hold it in front of you being careful not to move your hand, and just think what direction you wanted the metal object to move and it would. it DID work but I noticed as I "thought" that my hand was slightly moving too. so I don't exactly put any stock into this but heck, it's still fun to try!

So I tried to be super careful and not move my hand and my ring said "girl". I tried to "think" it into going up and down for "boy" but all I got was the circular motion. hmmm . . . weird . . . (hearing the voodoo music in my head)

Whenever we do this, we have someone else hold the needle over our wrist. This eliminates the *power of suggestion* and makes it just a little easier to actually do it.

Anyways, I totally hope that it doesn't include m/c. Mine said boy, girl, boy. So...if it does include m/c and I won't get my girl, that will make me sad...

And, I totally don't think this is for real. But, it is a lot of fun to do with a group of girls!

Group of girls? Shoot I'm bout to make DH do it

As for the power of suggestion I know what you mean. My mom read somewhere a long time that you can do something like that and just by thinking swing in a circle it will or back and forth. Your hand makes the movement, but it's so slight you can't see your own hand moving. We tested it and saw it seemed to be true.

Also holding a thermomter in you hand and thinking about hot or cold can make it change accordingly.

Okay Jenn, I confess. My MIL, SIL, and myself were doing it one night and were having so much fun that we even ended up doing the test on dh, FIL, & BIL. It was great for a bunch of laughs, if nothing else

LOL, sorry if that came off as snarky, I really didn't mean it too, I'm just not feeling well, so I'm not expressing myself right.

Jenn: About my mom not being done. Well, that would be a medical miracle considering she's had a hysterectomy! It was total, too, so she no longer has her ovaries either. Maybe, if she isn't done, she could get rich off the movie rights!
