okay...

so i compared the contractions i had when i was miscarrying to the ones i had whne i was in labor with my daughter and around 3-4 cm's...

So i was wondering, does ANYone know how much you dilate during a miscarriage? i know it has a lot to do with how far along you were etc... i was 11wk 2d.... But do you think i was only like 1 cm? or do they not even measure it like that? i just am curiouse to know if i was anywhere close with my guess of 3 cms

That's an interesting question, Em. Unfortunately, I have no idea, but I am interested in the answer!

I was curious too. That was my first pregnancy.

I have heard somewhere else that the pain was comparable to about 3-4cm. Makes me a little scared

I don't know for sure, sorry if this doesn't help. I was 27w5d when I lost Abby. I was dialated to 1 almost the whole time I was in labour, and I was still at 1 when they checked me before they put the epi in. Only one hour later she came out, so I don't think I was dialated much more than 3 myself. My dd was 1lb 11oz and 14 inches long. I delivered the placenta only a couple minutes later. I was told that I wouldn't fully dialate because she was so small. So maybe I was more like a 5. I kind of wish I knew too, but they didn't check me like they should have.

I think with a mc, it all depends. Sorry to sound graphic, but if the baby came out in the sac then you might have been a little more dialated. My mc's were early on though, around 6 weeks, so I don't know for sure. I hope you get some answers.

I don't have an answer either, but I would like to know. I know that my further-along m/c were far more painful than the earlier ones. Wonder is your doc would have any guess?

I don't know either, but whatever it was, it was the most pain I have ever experienced.
