I was really excited on Friday when I got my bfp, but now I'm just stressed. I'm trying so hard to be positive but I'm just so so scared Since about Saturday, my upper back, neck and shoulders have been sore....like I pulled a muscle or 2. It's not BAD, but it still aches. And I know shoulder pain can be a sign of ectopic pregnancy, so I am absolutely FREAKING! My DH says that your upper back/neck/shoulders is where all the stress collects, and he thinks I'm stressing myself out so much worrying about m/c that it's causing me pain. Could that be true?

I called today to make my 1st appt, and it's not until March 5th...a whole month away!! But I asked the receptionist to have someone call me back so I can ask them about the pain, and my voice started shaking on the phone, so I'm hoping she realized how worried I was and someone will call me soon.

Reassurance please?

***UPDATE***
So the Dr called back, many hours later, and told me not to worry at all b/c my neck/back/shoulders hurting is NOT a sign of ectopic. She totally understood that I would be stressed b/c of the loss, and she also made an appt for an early u/s for me, right at 6 weeks, on V-day I'm hoping it goes well. I'm feeling much much better now tho, and thanks for your reassurance!

Your husband is right, it might just be where you are carrying your stress but I would say to continue to stay in contact with the docs. They should be willing to give an u/s after your hcg hits 1000 so they can see at least where the sac is and ease your worries. I know once you get pregnant it is hard to stay positive and not let those bad feelings creep in. Just try to think 5 positive thoughts for every 1 negative.

When I'm stressed, my lower back absolutely KILLS. I agree with your hubby, that it's probably nothing and just the stress collected.

I hope the office calls you back, so they can possibly get you in to take some new blood or something.

I'm sure everything is fine with your lil bean!

and heading your way!!

You poor thing - I'd be a wreck too. You want that + so much, but then you're worried sick. I already told DH that once I get pregnant again I'm going to be so nervous about everything, whether I want to or not.

That said, whenever I get stressed my neck & shoulders are one of the first places I feel it - that & headaches. I'd definitely want to talk to someone at the doctors office just to be reassured. I hope they get back to you quickly b/c I know how hard it is waiting. Good luck & lots of sticky dust - I'm sure everything is fine.

Ditto all of this!

That is exactly where I tighten up when I get stressed out- and it hurts so bad it's like someone is winding all my muscles up into tiny knots or something. But I agree that you should talk to the doctor just to ease your mind if nothing else.

I feel for you and know I will be the same way if I ever get another BFP!

Hugs to you!

Kim -- I'm sure every pang, twinge, ache and worry only causes more pangs, twinches, aches and worries. Hang in there girl and try to find something relaxing to do for yourself. Maybe you can get DH to give you a nice relaxing foot massage. Pets are great during stressful times too -- if you don't have a pet, just go to a pet store and cuddle with all of the little ones. Hang in there, girlie, and keep us posted. Hopefully you can get in sooner than you were first told.

It sounds like you are stressing yourself out.

I do hope the Dr will call you back. If so let us know what advice they offer

I'm so glad you will be getting in sooner than you first thought! What a relief! (DH should still give you a foot rub or something, though).

How you are feeling is so normal!! I have been a nervous WRECK this whole time.

Right after i found out I was preg, I was nothing but happy, but as time went on, more and more worrying went on. I was freaking myself out that I had a Molar pregnancy!!! or a blighted ovum!! I completely understand and wish it was easier for us!!!

Your u/s will make you feel soooooooooooooooo much better, believe me!!

that's awesome they are going to get you in for an earlier U/S. I agree the stress is probably just causing you muscle pains. I think DH should also give you a shoulder rub. That's what they're there for

Yay, for the early ultrasound! But I will say that shoulder pain is a sign of an ectopic, but not all people get it. I'm sure yours is just stress though!!
