hi everyone! We went to Austin last weekend. DF liked it a lot. I liked it, but think I need to spend more time there. We went house searching and came up with quite a few options. In the end, I think that sometime between 6mo and 1 yr, we will be living there. DF's employer is interested in setting up a showroom in Austin. So, we wouldn't lose his income, and he can still keep his California clients. I spoke to a nurse recruiter, and started lining up a job for myself. It's exciting and scary. I want to conceive here because I have everything planned. I am not sure how I would feel transferring OB's in the middle of my pregnancy. On a different note, my sister is in the 2ww. We are both trying to get pregnant together. Below are 3 houses we looked at.

*****update******* We decided to make an offer on the first home pictured. It's the smallest of all 3, but we absolutely love the outside, and love the floor plan. It's still 3 times the size of what we live in now, and the payments are something we are more comfortable with. About $400 more than what we pay now. We are excited. Keep your fingers crossed that they didn't sell it today. Our offer isn't presented until tomorrow. My coworkers are really bummed that I am leaving. I will really miss them too! Darn emotions.

Oh how exciting That is neat how they put the stone all the way up the houses down there. I've see that here but most the time it just goes half way up and the other half is stucco. Sounds like everything is lining up perfectly!

Yeah, I guess that type of stone is indigenous to Texas. So it is relatively inexpensive to use. I can buy a 2700 sq ft house there for less money than I can buy a 1 bedroom condo in santa monica. How nuts is that? And they have great schools!

YEA YEA Move to Austin!! I can't see the pics from here at work, but I know they have some great places there. And the climate is fabulous.. and you are only 7 hours from me.. so I could actually meet you sometime when we go to SATX or Austin. That's a whole other story. Did you know I've actually met two JM mommies in person- one in Oklahoma and the other is from New York and we met up in DC (we were both there visiting the same weekend- crazy, uh?)..

Anyway... I'm glad you're back. That would be so neat if you and your sis were pregnant together.. but it has to be next month with me!

How exciting! Are you going to be working at a hospital there? I do know a tiny bit about the hospitals since I did my lab training rotations at a couple of them.

Dh and I are still open to the possibility of moving back to Austin someday.

It would be so cool to meet up with you! As for getting pregnant this month, I am totally scared and excited again. It's going to be weird since we are doing IUI. As for houses, I love the houses. One of them (pic 2) is more money than we want to spend. Now, DF keeps talking about buying a duplex first, living there for a year, then renting it out, and moving up to another house. I am kind of freaked about that. I think it will be too hard to move, rehab a place, have a young baby, and work. So... we will see what we end up doing. But the plan looks like it will happen within the next few months.

Shannon, I am looking at Dell's Children's hospital since I work in pediatrics. If you know anything, I would love to hear.

Hmm, sorry I haven't heard of Dell Childrens Hospital. It must be new and/or smaller than some of the other "major" hospitals.

I agree with you it may be hard to live in a duplex and then move to a house after a year. But I also hate moving!

Yeah, Dell's Childrens Hospital is fairly new I think. It's part of the Seton hospital system. I think I might take a travel position before I do a permanent position. I haven't decided. I am having some second thoughts on the house we were putting a bid on.
