I just had a early miscarriage/chemical pregnancy.

The midwife suggested that we wait 2 or 3 cycles before TTC again. I read online that they usually only suggest that to get better dating when you do get pg again. Since I'm charting, is it necessary??

This is my first miscarriage...I was exactly 5 weeks along.

Any input would be great.

thanks!

First, let me say how sorry I am to hear of your loss!!!

Second, the reason the doc's say to wait is for dating purposes and to make sure your uterus is back to "normal". They suggest you have at least 1 period/cycle before TTC again.

I'm not sure about the charting!

It seems that every doctor has a different opinion on this matter. I think it is totally a personal decision. The reason they like you to wait is so that they are able to tell how far along you are more easily. I think if you are comfortable with trying right away, and you are charting, then you can do so!

Thank you ladies...I was thinking about taking 1 cycle off and then TTC again. Normally my cycles are pretty regular so I don't thinking dating the next pg will be an issue.

Im very sorry for your loss

yeah they want you to wait so that your uterus can get back to normal and get a good lining again to better support a pregnancy, and for dating purposes.
