Hey guys


I've been in and out over the past couple of weeks and will be for the next month or so.

The past month has been a little crazy....
My live-in housekeeper had a stroke a couple of weeks ago and we have been taking care of her and her family. She is only 29 and this type of "illness" is devastating for a family this poor and the healthcare here is so erratic and unreliable. Poverty here is quite an issue. The average salary here is less than $6000 USD a year and that's for someone lucky to find work. Our maid leaves her family out in the country to come 3 hours into the capital to work as a housekeeper because there is nothing available where she lives. Her husband works in agriculture and only gets paid once the produce comes in. So it is a difficult life. She is a dear sweet girl and really a part of our family.

Plus my internet has been very sporadic lately.

We are in the process of moving as well. I am in Trinidad right now looking for a house for the next several weeks and we'll probably move officially in March or April.

Anyways, just wanting to let all of you gals know that I'm still here, reading your posts and cheering you all on in my heart even if I'm not posting every day. I will be checking on everyone regularly and trying to post when I have internet access.

So glad to hear from you!!!! I'm so sorry to hear the news about your housekeeper!!! That's so sad!!! I hope she has a speedy recovery and is healthy really soon!!!
