we filed a complaint in early January about my care at the local clinic here bc how on earth do you miss a large,healthy, fetus with a strong heartbeat on u/s? Them missing that resulted in my uterus rupturing, the surgery, the 2 night hospital stay, the 50% blood loss, the blood transfusion, a UTI, and not to mention I lost my job over this!
Granted I would have needed the surgery but it would have been a laparoscopic one-day deal, not a hospital stay, I wouldn't have had the massive blood loss, the need for iron supplements for a year, the threat of HIV/Hepatitis hanging over my head from the transfusion, and 6 - 8 weeks recuperation time. I am (or was) a temporary clerical worker and the company I was placed with couldn't wait 6 - 8 weeks for me to come back, they had to replace me, so that job is GONE. Which totally sucks bc they were willing to keep me on as a temp as long as I wanted to work. I stayed as a temp rather than hire on with them bc I knew i was going to need alot of time off for all the IVF stuff, then all the upcoming pregnancy appts - it was just easier that way and they were fine with it. Temporary clerical jobs in this town are not easy to come by.
I just heard back today regarding the complaint, the clinic says they didn't do anything wrong and the result would have been the same regardless of if they had seen the problem right away. REALLY . . .

not fighting the surgery I am fighting the
other CRAP!!! So I asked what I needed to do to fight their decision bc it is NOT acceptable and they said they'd send it thru for review again . . .

DH had also filed a complaint with the general headquarters and they said to call them back if the response was not satisfactory but do you think we can find that darn piece of paper with the guy's name & number on it??

I tried calling the headquarters today to find this guy but all they could tell me was that the complaint needs to be filed locally (which I told them several times we had already done that) and that they have NO record of talking to us. yeah, whatever!!!

I think I'm going to call the phone company next and see if I can get our incoming call records bc that guy DID call us. I don't know if they do that but it's worth a shot to try and find his phone #.
