Someone on here mentioned a while back about taking robitussin, something about your cm when ovulating. Does anyone know how much to take, when and which one? I'm willing to try ANYTHING these days!

You can take it to thin out your CM if you think your CM is too sticky or thick. But I don't think it will make you produce more CM. For that I suggest drinking green tea, because it seems to be helping me. I had a huge glob of it come out last night! You drink the green tea from CD 1 until the day you ovulate and then stop.

Check out this website: http://www.fertilityplus.org/faq/cm.html

You want plain robitussin with no letters after it, guanifensin (sp?) should be the only active ingredient.

You can also use Mucinex and I've heard that actually works better because it is stronger.

I forgot about the green tea until yesterday so I don't know if I should even drink any this month, though I did have a few bottles of green tea last week now that I think about it...maybe I should go make me some

I'm not sure about the Robitussin, other than I've heard it thins out the CM... Not to hijack you're thread, but I'm curious about the green tea. Is it bad to drink it after ovulation, or just not needed anymore? I usually drink that when I'm trying to cut out the coffee.

I don't think it really bad after ovulation, with the exception of caffeine. Why does everything have to have caffeine? I know they do make de-caf green tea though

I am not sure why they say to stop it after ovulation. Maybe it is because of the caffeine. I bought de-caf green tea though.

I am on clomid this month, and I bought mucinex. I prefer a pill to liquid. I just started following the instructions on the box. It's kind of pricey though. Thinking I should try the green tea too, but I don't drink caffeine any more. Guess I could get the decaf.

If you look in the Sunday paper, sometimes they have coupons for Mucinex. You are right though, I think it is pricey.

The green tea I got says it is naturally decaffeinated. I don't drink any caffeine either. The only caffeine I end up taking in is whatever I get through chocolate!

Totally OT but how much does your Clomid prescription cost? Just curious, I know my insurance would not cover it if I ever had to take it.

I paid $108 for 20 50mg tabs. It's the generic version. I took 100mg this month (so $54 a month). I have to buy the HCG injection for monday. Apparently it's hard to find. It should run about $60. My follicle study is $150 each time, and the IUI is $210 fee at the OB's office and $170 for the sperm prep, stim and washing at the lab. All in all, the whole process is costing around $800, not including acupuncture.

sorry, just hijacked the thread.

I am going to try IVFmeds.com next time clomid is $1.50 per pill for 50mg tabs

My Clomid for the month was $26.99 for 5 pills, 50mg. They were generic. I went to Walgreens. I also took Robitussin this month. I started it the day after my last pill till the day after I O'ed. I take 2tsp (with the cup they give you) 3 times a day. It has to be the regulare robitussin. ( I had to take the Clomid CD5-9) So you should be able to start taking it on CD10. Hope this helped. I take the Robitussin because its a lot cheaper.

I guess if I was on 50 mg it would have cost about $27-28. Fertility always cost us "older" moms more because we are approaching the end of our reproductive life. I am really hoping clomid works because the next step is injectibles and I hear that it can run upwards of 1K or more a month.
