Anyone here ever not received their tax refund?
I filed my best friend's and it says it was direct deposited on Thursday and he has yet to get it! He of course is freaking out! The website/phone says not to contact them about it being lost until Feb 26th, which is today. I'm guessing it's just to early for anything to have updated because online/phone it still says to wait till the 26th.
How frustrating!!! I checked and his bank acct number is right so that wasn't the problem. I don't know what to tell him. I hope that in a few hours it will let me start a trace on his refund. Even then I have no idea how long it will take for him to get it.

Did I mention I woke and had to pee once I crawled back into bed I realized I should have taken my temp, but figured it was so early I would just get it when I woke back up. Then he started texting me asking for me to look into his refund. So no temp for me today

That's strange, and you're sure the account number is correct? That would be the only thing I could think of that it was deposited into the wrong account. I guess he could call the bank and try to track it from that end as well.

We have checked the acct number and the routing number and they are right. The bank person told him that they had no knowledge of the refund.

That sucks, I guess you have to wait til you can speak to someone in the government directly. What a pain. Hope you don't have to wait on hold forever.

Did he verify with the bank that is wasn't "pending" at the bank.
Hopefully he gets it worked out soon.

Yeah we checked the pending and everything. I found a number to call at the IRS, but I couldn't fake being a guy to say I was him. I tried calling though and she of course said he had to call 
He just went on his lunch break and is supposed to be calling. Hopefully he will find out something, but I think he is going to be disappointed because I'm sure it is going to take longer to get fixed than he wants.

We don't have to file our Taxes until the end of April. But I hope you and Derek are able to find out about what's going on! I hope it's just pending for you guys!!

Oh Jessica it's not ours! Ours should be here by March 4th, but I'm thinking this Friday it may go in. We aren't depending on it right now so it's ok. It's my best friend.
He called and they tried to direct deposit it and the bank rejected it for some reason so now they are mailing him a check on March 7th!!
It's kind of his own fault for hurting for it though. He took a week off of work when he only needed to miss one day and then when he went to go back, work was slow so he wasn't getting jobs. Not only that but he got his state tax of over 300 and it's gone already (and not on bills mind you). He just blew it on his weekend away I guess.

Well, at least he's getting it. I don't know if we'll get a refund this year. Crossing fingers! Glad he worked it out.

That totally sucks about him having to wait longer! Especially when he needs the cash!

Yeah I do feel bad for him, but he'll make it. I may see if Derek will let us loan him some from our savings since he has to make his rent this week.
