I give a quick update. 2 days after finding out I was preggo, I started spotting brown only, and very light. So, I went to the DR 3 times for beta tests. They kep hovering around 40. I had a shot of methotrexate one week ago. Levels went from 57 (day of shot) to 97 (4 days later) to 89 (3 days after that)- that was yesterday. Had another u/s yesterday morning. They found a pregnancy mass in my right tube. My Dr sent me to the hospital and performed a laparoscopy. The mass was so close to my ovary she had to remove the whole tube. I guess it would not have healed by itself and I would have bled internally. She found a cyst on my left tube that she removed then too.

I have 4 incisions (very small). I feel pretty good, considering. Hardly any bleeding. I've taken tylenol, but that's all I really need. I would have been 7 weeks yesterday.

If anyone has had this procedure, can you tell me how long you stayed off work?? I have a desk job with no lifting and I'm just not sure. I'm going to call my doctor tomorrow ans see what she says also.

Any advice or shared experiences would be appreciated.

Thanks girls.

I had a laparoscopy 2 weeks ago and resumed normal activity within a few days. I didn't have any major surgery done though, just disgnostic. I'm still on restrictions not to life more than 10lbs (with the exception of my daughter).

I'm sorry to hear hun. Hope you feel better soon.

Bobbi

I am sorry you had to go through that and had to lose your tube, but I know there are plenty of girls that still successfully conceive after losing a tube.

I hope your recovery remains fairly painless and I hope you are back to 100% quickly!

oh hun I am so sorry you had to go thru this!!! I went thru the same thing with my 1st pg, except the levels hovered around 275 - 300. Pg mass was found in the same place, the fimbral end, and they took my left tube too, but mine had ruptured and I had been bleeding internally for 3 weeks (stupid dr's!!! I had told them it was ectopic!!! )

I was off work for 1 1/2 weeks but that's just because my surgery was done on a Thurs so I took the whole next week off (desk job too) but I had a lot of pain from the CO2 gas. The incision pain barely hurt at all.

And yes, you def. can conceive with just one tube.

(((HUGS))) I am sorry for your loss.

I also lost my right tube on 10/2/07 due to an ectopic. I was out of work for almost 2 weeks but I had some internal bleeding and my belly suctioned during surgery. To do that they fill you full of air. And that is what caused me the most discomfort. I felt pretty good after the 1st week but stayed out the 2nd b/c 1. I could and 2. I needed the emotional time to heal.

O' I should add I found out I was pregnant 11/26/07 without having a period between my ectopic and new pregnancy. And I am not one of those girls who just get pg. It took us 8 months and a loss to get pg with DD. You can definatly get pg with one tube!

I hope you feel better soon.

HUGS. I am so sorry you lost your little one and your tube Like the other girls said, you can definately still conceive with one tube. Another girl here just got her BFP and she only has one tube. I hope your physical and emotional healing process goes as smoothly as possible.
