If you look to the left of the threads there is a coffee cup. If you have posted in that thread, there will be a spoon in the cup

I've known that for a while. It's a good way to keep track of the threads you've responded to.

And the little orange square by the title of the thread tells you that there have been posts since you last visted that post. If you click that square, it'll to to the last post you've read.

And if you click the "last post by" on the right side (not the name of the person, which takes you to the profile, but the actual "last post" words) it'll take you to the last post in the thread.

I realized it back when I joined and the color of the cup is darker if there are new posts in that thread that you have not read.
