She wasn't due until March 17, but due to gestational diabetes and preeclampsia, she was induced last night. She's gonna have hersef a Leap Year Baby. Isn't that so exciting? I'm so happy for her, because she did lose her last pregnancy to miscarriage, so this little guy is extra special. I'll post again when he comes!

So, it looks like my friend didn't have her Leap Year Baby after all. She had to go in for an emergency c-section around midnight. Little Noah was born a happy and healthy 7lbs at 2:30am March 1st, 2008 according to her husband.

How exciting!!! How does that work when you have a baby on the leap year? When do you celebrate their b-day the other 3 years?

That's so exciting! I just heard a story on the radio about some lady who is celebrating her 24th birthday today but she is really turning 96. How cool is that?!?
Hope your friend has a speedy labor and an easy delivery!

I had a friend who was a Leap Day baby. The year she turned twelve, we through a big 4th birthday party for her. She HATED it when everyone told her that she was "4 years old." She would always say, "No, I'm twelve years old. I have lived for twelve years. It's my 4th birthday, but I have lived for 12 years. Having a birthday doesn't change how many years I've lived."
This year is her 6th birthday. She usually celebrates her birthday Feb. 28, because it's actually in February.
Congratulations to your friend for having a baby! But I would HATE to have GD AND Pre-e! Ugh, poor girl!

Yay for a healthy baby! That's great! And March is a great month to be born in. I was born in March (21)
You know, I've never wanted to have a Leap Day baby. I'd rather all my babies have a birthday every year.
