hi, i was here a while ago coz i just had this horrible feeling something was wrong well:

on wednesday i starting spotting - long stringy reddy pink cm. so i went to the gynae on thursday morning - no spotting at all!! saw a heart beat baby is measuring smaller by a few days not much, im apparently 6wks 6 days today as aposed to 7 wks 2 days.

then thursday was fine, friday woke up, fine. then afternoon started spotting brown globs of cm. came home got into bed to rest as i called gynae and he said relax. last night RED globs of blood. not messing onto panty liner only when i wipe. NO CRAMPING AT ALL!! i screamed my head off that my fiance stressed and called his mother as mine is not in the country.

she calmed me down, i went to sleep, still bleeding today.... everytime i wipe... browny red no clots no cramps... what the hell??? please help!! is this normal. what happened to you, did you have a heart beat before you miscarried????

Hi sweetie, Im in your due date club.. but i hang out here becuz i love these women so much...

I understand why you are worried... its so scary to bleed at any point during pregnancy...

i cant directly answer your Q becuase with my miscarriage when i started to bleed i never was able to get anyone to do an ultra sound for me, so i dont know if the baby still had a heart beat at that point or not.

I did see the babies heart beat at 6w and 2d or something... but i started to bleed when i was about 10 1/2 weeks pregnant.. and when they finally did do an ultra sound it was the day before i miscarried and i was bleeding pretty heavily, like a period. They said the baby only measured at 8 weeks, so i think the heart had stopped beating long before i even started to bleed...

So in your case, since they just checked the heart after youd spotted, things really are probably fine.

But if you continue to spot like this, id still go in on monday to see the baby again. And if the spotting gets worse you could go to the ER. just to ease your mind. But ER visits are pricey... depending on your insurance.

Sorry for the book!

Oh, sweetie! I know this is crazy scary for you!!! It is GREAT that you saw the heartbeat a few days ago. Your chances of miscarrying go down dramatically once there is a hearbeat. Plus, it sounds like your little bean is a good size (the difference between 6w6d and 7w2d is small).

I don't know what is happening with you; but I do know that a lot (maybe 50%) of women have spotting in their first trimester. Can you call the doc today? Do they have an emergency line or something if the office isn't open? Try to relax and take it easy today. I know it is much, MUCH easier for me to type that than it is for you do actually do it

Let us know how things work out for you!!

I know you must be really scared! But since you saw the hb after you started spotting, I think everything is prolly fine. But if you're still bleeding, I would insist that your doc see you, or go to the ER, just to put your mind at ease. I hope everything is ok!

thank you ladies, you making me feel a little more positive. the weird thing is there is not cramping... the blood is not like a period its like red mucus... TMI WARNING... i can spread it with my fingers on the tp and if i spread it it goes clear. its just when its in a clump that it looks really red. its stringy like fertile cm and its got an orangy tinge to it... ive been in bed all day i just hope it stops bleeding soon, this is too much for me.

With my m/c back in december it all i had was pinkish red CM and not really two much bleeding, not trying to scared you or anything, and i didn't have any cramping either. But i was also only 5 weeks 2 days and my baby didn't have a heartbeat yet. My next m/c in Jan the cramping was horriable and i was gushing blood(TMI). I was 6 weeks and the baby didn't have a heart beat yet either. The only m/c i've had where i had actually saw and heard my babies heart beat was when i m/c at 11 weeks before my first daughter was born. I had lots of bleeding with that loss and not really any cramping but i can't remember that far back it was in 2004.

Anyway thats how my m/c were, i'm sure yours it nothing. If you get really worried about it you can always go to the ER and ask them for a sono to make sure the baby is still doing okay. Good luck!

I hope this makes you feel a little calmer. I had spotting/bleeding with my dd (who is now 4yrs) around 6 weeks. Went to the e/r and saw a heartbeat. on a vag. u/s I continued to bleed that week - it went from red to pink to brown, no clots, no cramping but I did have to wear a pad. Everything ended up being fine. When a heartbeat is detected the dr. told me the chance of miscarriage goes way down. It is a good sign you aren't cramping and if the blood seems more brown now. Good luck. I know how scary it can be.

I just wanted to add that I know a girl who had a lot of spotting and bleeding early in her pregnancy. She just gave birth to a very healthy little girl.

I came across a website yesterday that described the colors of CM, and yellow or orange is more indicative of a ruptured cyst. I did have that once before (pg #2), it was like orange CM for me, along with bleeding but that pg had other problems .
Hope that's all that was and that you & your little bean are just fine!!!

Pardon me for asking, but why go in for a d&c if you're not that far along? I'm just confused. My understanding of d&c's is when you've miscarried far back (say 6 or 7 weeks) but your body still hasn't expelled the pregnancy at 11 or 12 weeks because your cervix failed to open or you're farther along (like 11 weeks or something).

I've never heard of a d&c at 6 or 7 weeks.
