I was thinking today about how universal it seems to be for those of use who have been trying a long time to see or hear about women getting pg quickly, and how people who have not been where we are don't seem to understand. And I got this image:
Imagine you have been waiting in line for hours, days, weeks, months, even years every day. It's been cold and raining. Your body hurts, you are desperate, but there is nothing more important than getting what you're waiting for, because without it, you're not sure if life will be worth living. So you wait. You give up all kinds of things that used to bring you pleasure, vacations, wine, coffee, hot baths, exercise, sometimes even sex. You can't plan anything, because you need to keep your place in line, and you don't want to miss that day when you finally get tapped, and it's your turn. You've been waiting to long, well over a year, and you're way up at the front of the line, but still...you can't get in and women keep cutting in front of you, and getting tapped way back at the back of the line to go right up. Sometimes, some happy go lucky dippy 20 year old just walks right up to the door and walks in, not even realizing there is a line, not even seeing you, soaking wet and shivering and miserable there in the cold. And every day, you see these women coming out, holding the prize you obsess about night and day, that you've put your life on hold for, that you're spending your life savings on, that you would endure anything for. The dippy 20 year old comes up to you on her way out, holding her prize, and says...hey I was just walking by and went in that building and look what I got! Isn't it COOL?!
Then, one day, you feel the tap. You can't believe it, you are so happy. Everything you've been through, every day in the pouring rain and freezing cold, it's all worth it. Finally, it's your turn! There are some other unlucky ladies who have been waiting with you, they all clap, they are happy because if you got in, well maybe they have a chance too. And because finally, someone got in who deserves it. And you've been eachother's company in the cold, and while it's miserable, well you know what they say....misery loves company. And at least you can comfort eachother, and complain about the dippy 20 year olds together.
Your life is turned upside down. You can hardly believe your luck, you can hardly believe you won't need to wait out in the cold every day anymore. You go to the door. You get in. But then when you get to the desk they say, I'm sorry...there's been a manufacturing defect in your prize. We have to return it to the factory. Please get back in line.
Almost 6 years now I have been in this line.

That literally brought tears to my eyes. I have not been in line for nearly as long as you my dear, but it pains me to know you have been living this for six years. You are in my thoughts and I hope you soon have what you desire.

This brought tears to my eyes. I know I haven't been waiting as long as you have, but I know it is agonizing.
I hope you get a healthy baby soon.
